Discussion: Two More CEOs Quit White House Panel Over Trump's Charlottesville Response

Ingrid Thulin is running 3M?
I have fantasies involving her wrapping me in Scotch Tape

You should have never been there in the first place.

Couldn’t agree more. It’s what I thought all along, that Trump wouldn’t and couldn’t hang in there, that the system would puke him out like a bad clam. He’s too personally chaotic and uncontrollable. The system cannot tolerate that chaos rippling outward. These guys don’t want recessions and trade wars and shooting wars.

Inge Thulin…

…but whatever floats your boat I suppose.

This Harvard prof Bill George, who was Medtronic CEO pointed out that these big corporations serve several international constituencies, most important stockholders. It was considered way out of character a few weeks ago when Blankfein(Goldman) suddenly rolled out a Tweet Program . As you know Goldman isn’t a branch bank like Citi or Chase. Now I wonder what’s going on there.

Keep in mind that Donnie used his business experience as a positive. Now the captains of industry whose approval he craved are once again rejecting him

OT’s just making a little cinephile joke. Ingrid Thulin is what might have decades ago been called a thinking man’s pinup.

Zowie. That was a different time and a different species of glamor could exist then. I don’t think it can now.

I’m pretty sure that Frazier’s departure for ethical reasons gave Krzanich and Plank the opening they needed to escape their abusive relationship with Trump. (I mean, honestly, who really believes that CEOs of Fortune 500 companies get their positions because of their highly developed moral codes?) The only business that Trump cares about is his own, and while leaders of the business community might be willing to become dignity wraiths for enough profit, they’ve realized there is no benefit to supporting Trump.

Rats, ships, etc.

I’ll bet if you went to the New York auto show you’d see some fine current examples of the style, alongside more up-to-date looking ladies/women…

Honestly, I think that’s the reason why he’s in NYC right now. He’s here because NYC’s 1% told him to get his ass over here so they could have some serious discussions, face to face, most likely about how they want legislative issues dealt with over the Fall.

It wont work, of course, because talking to rump is like, well…

Once September finally makes it’s way here, I think we should be prepared to rock and roll. The 1%ers from Blue States see the handwriting on the wall; I think the 1%ers from the Red States such as the Mercers think “the Trump Train” is still a thing. The country can burn for all they care.

Well, you may remember Jackie Gleason supposedly hated to fly, everybody knew it, so he had his own train and shuttled back and forth to Miami, got out of going where he didnt want. Then one or two opportunities he couldn’t pass up came up, and voila! suddenly his phobia disappeared. His cover was blown.

'Course maybe the CEOs are making Donald an offer he can’t refuse. I hope so.

I will make a mental note of that in case I ever want to feel more wistful than usual.

“Trump is a poor person’s idea of a rich person. They see him. They think, ‘If I were rich, I’d have a fabulous tie like that. Why are my ties not made of 400 acres of polyester?’ All that stuff he shows you in his house- the gold faucets- if you won the lottery, that’s what you’d buy.”

Note the only one Trump criticized was the Black CEO who resigned.
