Since when is this an illegal activity? Supposethey were shooting at a picture (target) of Obama instead of glass bottles - would it be illegal then?

All of this fuss could have easily been prevented with legal suppressors.

I’d love to be the attorney that gets to defend this one! Unless there is a great deal more to this story (and being an AP story it’s better than 50-50 odds that there is) I would defend the criminal charges for free as long as I could have the “false arrest” (there are surely other torts, I just didn’t waste the time thinking about this) and civil rights violation cases for the standard 1/3 fee. I’d be set for retirement from one case.

“Officers say as they approached the house they heard more shots and noticed the front door was open.” Puhleeze!

Front door open or unlocked? Either way, sound like an alcohol related incident…

If you are talking about sound suppressors or so called silencers I doubt they would do much in a basement. I used one in Vietnam and found it channeled the report a bit but really didn’t do much. I would think the acoustics of a basement would null and void the things.
