Discussion: Two Former Christie Allies Indicted In BridgeGate Revenge Plot

Discussion for article #235897

This is interesting. Will Christie’s allies take the fall for him or will they sell out and turn on him to get a more favorable plea deal. I bet Chris Christie is sweating like a fat lady in a steam sauna

It will be an interesting press conference this afternoon. Which almost never happens at 4pm on a Friday.

Certainly not the usual fare for the Friday evening news dump.

(1.) Christie is in freefall
(2.) thoroughly convinced that Christie’s camp had a sense that it was going to be bleak - so much so that when:
Mary Pat Christie resigned her $475,000 position at hedge fund Angelo, Gordon & Co., ( last day on April 24)

  • it was probably less ‘to get ready for a presidential campaign’ and more to take cover for the disaster that was coming.
  • would not be surprised if there was some sweet deal from the hedge fund to just “go away & keep us away from all of this”

Hopefully he lands safely in a police van…

They may not get Christie on this but we all know he was in on it and probably asked these assholes to do it. But damn is he going to suffer. Like a figure in a classical Greek tragedy the man’s inner self destroyed him. His bellicosity which he prides himself on and the media fawns over was his Frankenstein’s monster.

He’s done. No POTUS that’s a given but nothing else either. Just a shitty attorney’s job in a wingnut firm. Given his ego and the self inflicted nature of his downfall this is going to destroy him. He won’t live a day free of it. I hope Sokolich sends him a card from time to time.

If you want to have fun with a press conference pull up that extended diatribe Christie gave after this mess hit the fan. Turn off the sound and just watch him. Let your innate ability to connect with another person and all you have leaned about body language take over your thoughts. No sound…just watch. You probably have not seen a bigger ( no pun intended ) liar in your life.

I think people are jumping onto conclusion about Christie and his role. Keep in mind, he is an ex US attorney and knows these laws etc. He may have known it but if he has any common sense, he would avoided his involvement that could be traced to him. He is no dummy.

I also find it interesting that the indictments mention nothing about CC withholding Sandy relief funds in exchange for political support. I think this is just the warm up for the big fish fry…

Or he is a dummy. You’re probably one of a very few that think Christie uninvolved but you have to admit if he was unaware that mutually includes gross incompetence on his behalf. It was his office. Several members of his close staff and he knew nothing? Wildstein now admits it was done as a political hit for Christie and they did that without telling him?

What’s the point in doing this, now that we know why it was done, and keeping the benefactor out of the loop? Sure Christie was a former USA but that doesn’t mean he would fear doing it. He might, and given his persona probably did, think that gave him an inside edge at getting away with it.

Look dude this thing has from its beginning gone all wrong for Christie. As time goes by it gets worse. It’s real bad now. And you think that points to the man’s innocence?

Pass the butter and marmalade – Christie is toast.

Este es nuestro pais…estas son nuestras leyes…

Reminds me of that clip of Ralph Fiennes in Quiz Show.

And as a USA, Christie regularly abused his office. Regularly stayed in posh hotels at taxpayers’ expense, in contravention of the DOJ guidelines. And his office leaked confidential info like a sieve.

“Time for some traffic problems in Fort Lee”.
Now, it’s time for some legal problems for Bill Baroni.

Christie sweats when he swims. Having said that, this is like the old days when they put Blagojevich into the slammer for his 14 year sentence.
