OK. I predict, that Prof. Ford testifies, she is savaged by angry Repubs but she stands up to them. However, Kavanaugh is confirmed. Later, the victim re-iterates her accusations and there is sweeping public support for her. Then comes November, the Democrats win the House. They open an investigation against Kavanaugh and start his impeachment. He is impeached.
Great, as far as it goes. But it stops right at the point where it takes 2/3 of the Senate to convict. So your scenario winds up being charged, tried and NOT convicted. What good does that do?
