Discussion: Twitter User Appears To Provide Eyewitness Account Of Teen Shooting

Discussion for article #226491

While I am no fan of the excesses of social media (people who feel the need to write about their every thought, latte or meal), it is in times like these when a contemporaneous report is of use.

It also appears to be the most honest, non-biased account of events available.

Anyone know what ā€œan ARā€ is? Automatic rifle?
ā€œRillosā€ one can assume were the cigars (cigarlillos?)

AR probably stands for AR15 or whatever kind of semi-automatic weapon the police officer is holding in his left hand in the photo that accompanies the tweet you refer to.

ā€˜ARā€™ does stand for ā€˜automatic rifleā€™, but specifically it means this military-grade weapon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AR-15

Is that the officer accused of shooting?

So, as expected, there was absolutely no call for gunfire.

What also doesnā€™t shock me is how this twitter user and his friends all agree that he should keep his head low for fear of retribution by the cops.

So if this is an accurate account, Brown was running and the cop just pumped him full of lead (7+ shots). Holy sh*t! Even if Brown was no angel in this whole thing, how can the police justify this?

The brilliant minds on the Supreme Court have made it possible to justify virtually any shooting the police could commit. They are above the law when it comes to lethal force.

All the officer has to say is he believed Brown was a threat to seriously harm someone if he got away and court after court have upheld that as ā€˜reasonableā€™. Even when itā€™s completely and totally ridiculous.

This is getting very complicated. I donā€™t agree with the police shooting anyone except in self-defense and this does not appear to qualify under any reasonable standard and even some unreasonable ones. However, we may not know the full story until the FBI investigation is done and made public.

Interesting that the stolen cigarellos angle was known almost immediately, but only released today.

And we still have no police report on the actual shootingā€¦

This is at least the fourth witness giving the same basic account of the shooting. The only version that differs so far is the copā€™s.

It may well have come from the other guy.

Londoners turned against harsh so-called-justice in the early 19th century when an 8 year old boy was publicly hanged for the crime of stealing a loaf of bread (presumably to eat). I donā€™t presume anyone would eat a cigar but stealing a box of crappy cigarillos or a carton of Kools is not a capitol offense (although it offends capital to the point of execution evidently).

AR-15, Rillos = Cigarilloā€™s for rolling blunts, cheaper version of dutches, or Dutch Masters.

Never had a doubt this pig shot this kid in the back.

Rello (Urban Dictionary):

Short for Cigarello.
A small type of cigar, that is cut open, emptied of tobacco, and filled with marijuana.
Also can be referred to as the amount of weed you get in a sack, saying, ā€œThatā€™s a relloā€ meaning it is enough to roll a cigarello.

Dude, that rello we smoked earlier burned so niceand slow.
Dude, that dime bag is enough for a couple of rellos

And three of them are disinterested third parties. Except for them all being black, the police, even beleaguered police, would have to listen to that.

And if you did, this latest witness should dispelled those doubts.
