Discussion: Tucker Carlson: ‘Menendez Is Lying, Again’

Discussion for article #224851

I’m confused on the " is lying again." aspect - when was Menendez lying in the first part given that this story went nowhere, and basically proven false.

What it does prove is that Carlson is a terrible editor.

And the WaPo has sources that says there is evidence, and the underlying story you pushed to smear Mendendez was 100% bogus and throughly debunked.

So I would seriously slow your roll Tucker, because the last person on earth to be suggesting others have a credibility problem would be you.

“…That strikes me as newsworthy…”

I wouldn’t mind striking you with something newsworthy.

Lawsuit.

Shorter Tucker: “The NYT says there’s nothing for me to look into; so, Whew! Because investigation is hard.”

Tucker, sweetie.

Hush…

In that case , JonStewart is on line 1 inviting you to the DailyShow on Monday. RachelMaddow on line 2, for TRMS on Tuesday.

Hope to see you there…

Regardless,The Daily Caller’s reporting was erroneous and they failed to exercise due diligence in verifying facts and sources.

The Washington Post…

According to a former U.S. official with firsthand knowledge of government intelligence, the CIA had obtained credible evidence, including Internet protocol addresses, linking Cuban agents to the prostitution claims and to efforts to plant the story in U.S. and Latin American media.

The New York Times…

One senior United States official said Tuesday that the government had no proof that the Cuban government was behind the effort. A second official said that although it was a possibility, the authorities had not substantiated it.

Ahahahahahaha…that’s a good one, Tuck! Now, piss in my ear and tell me it’s raining, you phony liar! What a disgusting excuse for a “journalist” this ass is. Please just go away, you have ZERO credibility with anyone not lodged on the slopes of Bullshit Mountain (with apologies to Jon Stewart.)

Now that would have been a much better headline.

The CIA has been doing Cuba for so long they must be getting bored. It used to be “we can neither confirm nor deny” now it’s “we can both confirm and deny”.

Calling Tucker Carlson a “terrible editor” is an insult to terrible editors.

Fortunately for Carlson, rightwing media celebrity isn’t based on merit.

Much like the ISIS, RWNJs bestow glory on “martyrs.” But martyrdom to them merely is being embarrassed by more intelligent people for their stupidity. The more discredited they are, the bigger heroes they become. Ollie North, Lou Dobbs, Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter, Chris Christie, Sean Hannity, Rush Limbaugh (every single damned time he opens his orifice of ignorance)— the list is endless.

They are like the Hydra: When they should crawling defeated into their slimy holes, they are celebrated for their brave incompetence. The Daily Caller’s page views surely are up, and Tucker Carlson has completed his latest mutation into some version of Eric Erickson with a bowtie and an inheritance.
