These people just make up their own scary versions of reality, then spend 3/4 of their day freaking out about it. I can’t tell if it’s a hobby or a mental illness. It’s amazing to me that people will tune into and listen to this garbage. Jones, at about 6 minutes into that video, invokes video games and the new Road Warrior movie to help conclude that the “establishment” is trying to make the nation fail. You just can’t make this stuff up.

In teaching me about civics when I was a very young whipper snapper my ol’ Dad said (speaking of the 1st amendment) “We all have the Constitutionally protected right to be stupid”.
But he also taught me that right also should mean we should not be insulting or demonstrate bad manners to others. Displaying the image of Obama with the little moustache and calling him “scum” and “dictator” are what the Supreme Court has called “fighting words” and in any other situation Mr Obama would be entirely correct in suing Alex Jones, his company and Mr Carlson. Unfortunately Obama is an elected official and far wider latitude is given by the courts as I understand it in situations like this. BUT I see no reason why the Secret Service should not pay a “courtesy visit” To Mr Jones and suggest to him that a more polite tact would be appreciated.
Personally I’m thinking that gluing some tacks to his office chair would be appropriate.

Apparently Mr Jones CAN make this shit up. He also has a pretty good income doing it and THAT is the truly sad part. It seems there are considerable numbers of idiot people who will believe ANYTHING no matter how foolishly stupid and nonsensical as long as folks like Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh or Alex Jones say it is so… In my career as a scientist I’d have been laughed out of my job if I’d have said 1/100th the idiot drivel these guys pump out on a daily basis. My published journal papers were rigorously checked, rechecked, and then peer reviewed by outside scientists for accuracy and scientific method or they didn’t see the light of day. But Jones, Limbaugh, Fox, et. al. can say any damned thing no matter how far off the reservation and they’re lionized as pundits and fucking experts on whatever the drivel at hand is. No wonder depression is so common… (kicks empty soda can and shuffles away).
