Trickle Down economics – also known as Golden Shower economics.
It was the same in his businesses. He wants us to believe that success in buying a property = a good deal. But any idiot who is willing to pay more than the other suckers can buy a property,
You can tell Mnuchin is thinking “I did good, didn’t I? Did I? I did.” like the goober he is
Well, actually, he’s a full failure with limited tenure. Thank FSM.
Can we for Christ’s sake not call this tax reform? We’re talking about huge tax cuts that benefit the rich. “Reform” has a problem-solving connotation and I’d like to know exactly what problem is being solved here other than rich people think it’s a problem that they’re not even richer.
Trump gives me the sads.
Just looking at him gives me the sags.
“Consistency seems to be in short supply on the other side,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) quipped to TPM
I disagree with Sen. Blumenthal. Republicans are very consistent in their economic beliefs. They believe that Democratic administrations should not be allowed to fund social programs because they will “increase” the deficit and all programs need to be at least deficit neutral. They even apply this “logic” to deficit reducing programs such as ACA. They also believe that Republican administrations can and should cut taxes and increase “good” spending such as for the military with out regard to deficits. Sometimes they will use dynamic scoring with unrealistic GDP growth projections to try to hide the impact on the deficit but at other times they will just say “Regan proved deficits don’t matter”.
The other economic consistency is that Republican administrations result in rescission. With the current high valuation of the stock markets and length of the bull market, I expect we will have a significant correction in the not too distant future. I can’t wait to see how this incompetent and severely understaffed administration deals with it. If they are consistent they will react with austerity measures that will prolong the recovery as Europe has just shown in their response to the 2008 Great recession.
He and his spawn give me the gags.
There actually is a case to eliminate the corporate income tax, since it’s really not paid by the corporation, but by consumers and shareholders. Make them all pass-through entities like S corps and tax the profits at each shareholder’s individual rate. Right now, Bill Gates and a widow who owns a few hundred Microsoft shares pay at the same rate and that isn’t fair.
Look at him showing off his menu again. What a buffoon.
The shocker from the article - is that perhaps because of his work with Kansas - some of the True Believers are paying attention to… wait for it… Evidence (of Kansas’s abysmal plight due to blind application - and continued adherence after budgets surpluses nose-dived into deep deficits - of that damn laffer curve.) To the WH and the GOP in Congress who are not heeding the lessons: The Country does not need/want to go the way of Brownback’s Congress!
can we just say KANSAS?
I expect we will have a significant correction in the not too distant future.
How ‘bout tomorrow or Friday when the 1st qtr GDP numbers come out. Expected to be about 1%, which is, in economists’ terms, lousy.
Voodoo economics. By the billionaires, for the billionaires.
You can say LOUISIANA too. Governor Jindal and the Republican legislature made a mess there too.
But, but…3 months after Drumpfie’s inauguration, it’s still gonna be Obama’s fault.
Wait for it.
Trickle down tax cuts…that ever-returning, one-night stand who won’t be ignored.
Trump bellows “Drain the Swamp!” That’s hilarious!!
If we had a normal civil society, these people would be behind bars, instead of standing in front of the American flag, pissing on it.
