Well, cā€™mon, Trump only hires the best. /snark

This guy is so unqualified he doesnā€™t even know it.

Several people told ProPublica that Kasowitz has been drinking in recent months.

Ah, Come on, who wouldnā€™t ?

Oh, he knows it.

This cast of characters is almost unbelievable. Wilder, Stone, Coppola, Coen Bros., etc. couldnā€™t have written better characters. Because he is known for his over the top characters, I will throw in Spike Lee, reality has even ā€˜trumpedā€™ him. These people are caricatures.

They put a nameplate on the conference room for Michael Cohen, but he didnā€™t have an office thereā€¦

I wouldnā€™t give the Goofball Goombah a security clearance. But then, again, if it were up to me, nobody in the Trump menagerie would have a security clearance.

Why am I not surprised?

(And rumors are that Kasowitz is anyhow being blamed for the mess ā€” expect resignation/firing soon:)

ETA: Just occurred to me that this dude is yet another Trump hit-and-run. He wanted the world to know his name, which they do, but now the whole country also knows heā€™s got alcohol problems. Wonder how many (potential and current) clients will reconsiderā€¦

Define ā€œoffice.ā€

Was seeing rumors this morning Kasowitz is frustrated and ready to quit anyway.

Anyway, no worries about that security clearance thing. Iā€™m sure Trump is more scrupulous than the IC pros about not showing anyone anything they shouldnā€™t see. :innocent:

He donā€™t need no stinkinā€™ clearance. His client can show him whatever documents he wants.

And: gee, what an utter cesspit of a firm. That it still exists and has been immensely profitable shows that the Occupy folks were barely scratching the surface.

Exactly ā€“ does any one actually think that a lack of a security clearance would stop Donnie from sharing classified info with this tool, or stop this asshole from reviewing it?

ā€œThree former employees at the firm recall attorneys having to go across the street to the restaurant during the workday to consult Kasowitz on work matters, as he held court, drinking and eating. In response to questions, a spokesman for Kasowitz disputed that, saying he never had a drink during the day at the Palm outside of lunch and dinner and never handled firm business while at the restaurant.ā€

Lunch starts at 10AM and goes till 5PM, when dinner starts and goes until 2AM. But outside of only lunch and dinner, he never drinks.

However, given the stress of who his client is, and what he is up against, I look forward to the opportunity of seeing him falling down drunk in front of the press corps in the coming months.

I think a prosecuting attorney certainly would. He and Donald can review documents in secret, sureā€¦but try and introduce any of it into a legal proceeding and his ass is fried.

But this does raise a larger question I have had for some time, and why I donā€™t think Trump will ever face a day in court about anything remotely touching on National Security. While it is possible for a court to setup special rules to comply with the ICā€™s security concerns, Trump and his lawyers will do everything in their power to NOT comply with any such rules. And having leading counsel without security clearance is only the first step down that path.

ā€œthe Donald Trump of lawyering.ā€

Fat, ignorant and reckless? But for Kasowitz we must add: drunk.

OT, but did you read how Nelsan Ellis died from alcohol withdrawal?
He quit cold turkey and his body couldnā€™t handle it.

Iā€™ve seen variations on this article in several places this morning already. And color me skeptical. Weā€™ve been down this rabbit hole many timesā€¦how many stories about Bannon, Kushner and Priebus about to be fired have we already seen in the past 6 months? And hell, Gorka is still employed at the WH, though he quite literally does nothing at all.

There is a lot of knife fighting going on (always has been, all the way back to the campaign days), and no doubt Trump freely vents his fits of rage on anyone around himā€¦but as far as actually firing people? Trump is far too much of a coward to deal with that sort of confrontation. Always has been. The Apprentice was created in part, as an effort to mask this failing in him.

BTW, while definitely a bit wordy, this is a good article, TPM.

Exactly.

The President can whisper sweet state secrets into the ear of his inebriated counselor because itā€™s then automatically declassified.

Heā€™s played this game before. With Russian agents. In the Oval Office. Outing an allyā€™s agent. Hindering the fight against Isis.

So whatā€™s the problem?

Experts on federal security reviews told ProPublica that recent episodes of alcohol abuse are a major barrier to receiving clearance,

However, public and private manifestation of multiple psychotic, sociopathic and delusional pathologies isn't. To wit: Donald Trump.
