Discussion: Trump's Proposal To Gut The State Department Runs Into GOP Buzzsaw

More Trumpism “Fuck’em, Let them Die!” attitude.

To which his moronic supporters will shout with glee “Kill’em ALL and let GOD Sort them out!” while chugging down another beer.

This is why Trump “Loves the Stupid People”. They are so easy to manipulate.

Since this is where we are, I’m encouraged to see some people in the GOP Congress acting like grownups and fulfilling their function as a check on the Executive.

They aren’t going to give him carte blanche to restructure things and destroy the administrative state. They may cooperate in letting him whittle at parts of it, but lines seem to be beginning to at least be penciled in as: past here we won’t go.

Ok everyone will just spend the thread saying nasty things about the GOP and all of them are true and I agree with all of it but they are majority and we fucking need them to be a check, however inadequate, to this fucking goddamn horrible excuse for a president.

Stupid people----and reporters----are easy to manipulate, judging from the media response to Trump not tweeting for 90 minutes last night.

B-b-b-but…McConnell just informed the world that the T rump and GOP agenda are 100% exactly the same.

Very clearly, someone is lying.

Donald Jackass Trump reveals more of his incredible stupidity every day. This nightmare cannot end quickly enough.

Now, don’t get too excited here. This is Ryan and McConnell we’re dealing with. They are merely defending turf, not acting like grown-ups.

This is all chock full of awesome, but one thing in particular jumps to mind for me: Trump is a mindless raging reactionary vengeance seeker. This kind of snub will be paid back in spades. Frustrating his wants and desires and delaying his gratification is an unacceptable sin and it will be punished.

Ok, that’s fair - that is what they’re doing, I figured they would eventually and I’ll take it.

I don’t care about whether peoples’ motives are pure. They are all politicians - even the Democrats; I don’t think any of them have pure motives. It’s their actions that matter to me - the results they get. If they stop him from taking the Executive apart like he wants to, good - if it’s pure selfish power mongering, fine. It still stops PeePee.

To quote Winston Churchill - a man whom Trump claims to admire: “To jaw-jaw is always better than to war-war.”

This is easy to beat back. Just mention that it was short-sighted cuts to State Department funding that led to a decrease of security personnel at the Benghazi consulate.

The fact that no one seems to be making this argument makes me think that all those Benghazi investigations weren’t about preventing another Benghazi.

What’s interesting is, what the Kremlin wants is to destroy the establishment republicans and replace them with Kremlin friendly ones. At least according to my Russian neighbor who’s son works for Putin and brother works at FSB.

So I guess it would be nice if the establishment R’s would figure that out.

Just sayin’,

There we go. Gut the department that practices world diplomacy and give the money to the department that wages war.

Trump’s 54 billion increase in military budget is a lie also, it is really only 18 billion over what Obama spent:

Here’s the thing: Trump’s proposed budget wouldn’t do that. The actual increase is closer to $18 billion, not the $54 billion figure bandied about by the president’s aides. Eagle-eyed defense hawks such as Arizona Republican John McCain have noticed the discrepancy, and they’re not happy.
