Oh, no. He may be expensive, but Kasowiz is not a Wall Street suit. None of the qualified, Big Law lawyers would represent Trump. Kasowitz is a form of New York lawyer I’ve run across before (representing another vexatious litigant whom I’ve had on the other side of four different clients in multiple cases over more than 25 years).: He repeatedly defends the indefensible clients whom no one else will represent because the client “won’t pay and he won’t listen” and he represents them in pursuing claims that no other lawyer will pursue because they are so unfounded and ridiculous. All Kasowitz cares about is that he has a rich client who keep him steadily employed. This is the one guy Trump will pay, because Trump knows he has to have at least one lawyer who will take his calls.
He’s always been like this. When I worked for him in 1999-2000 he didn’t yet represent Trump, but it was obvious the two would be a match made in hell.
Trust me, this guy does not sum up the New York bar, thank god.

Bingo. It’s why the Clinton campaign’s focus on attacking Trump’s character—an entirely reasonable strategy for the first United States republic—was so ineffective at cutting down his support. Trumpers love Trump for being the asshole he is; to them, it’s a sign of White Alpha Male power. The Democratic Party should have spent far more time destroying the myth of his business acumen and much less time attacking his character. Yeah, 20/20 hindsight.

I’ve observed over a quarter century of practice that some of us viewed that class as important because we grasped that it had some bearing on our ability to both continue practicing law and to sleep at night in a business that gives us plenty of sleepless nights just because of the deadlines, while others viewed it much as people who want to be tax lawyers viewed torts class: a class taken because we have to pass the MPRE to get our licenses.
I rather doubt that Donald Trump has ever managed to maintain a professional relationship with a lawyer in the former category for more than a few weeks. And the Donald Trumps of the world are why there will always be an economic niche for lawyers who put winning ahead of their licensure. Lawyers who view the Rules of Professional Responsibility about the same way–not to pick on tax lawyers–but, yeah, about the same way tax lawyers view the Internal Revenue Code. They “take positions.” Don’t distinguish between actual good faith and “taking a position.” Indeed, they don’t distinguish between a position that passes the smile test and one that passes the vomit test.
Kasowitz told Trump, “This guy is going to get you,”…Ouch. Sounds like Trump should call Saul. 
As a foreigner my impression was that 'Real Americans™" detest sleezy New York Layers and Carpetbaggers.
What does Real Americans™ think about the types flocking around Donald ?
Actually, the Democratic Party needed and needs to focus on putting forward aspirational and inspirational policies. Being the anti-Republican and anti-Trump party is not - and should not - and will not - be enough to motivate voters to get to the polls.
