Discussion: Trump's New Fundraising Numbers Leave More Questions Than Answers

Gee, it’s almost as if the campaign is trying to be unintentionally clear in order to mislead people or cover something up…

I love this thing the press does where it acts like his statements might turn out to be true despite his throwing off all the usual signals that he’s lying and counting on the lie not being reported when it’s exposed because that will be a hundred lies ago.

In fourteen days, when he does his FEC filings, it will be clear he’s lying, but by that time no one will care.

Huge amounts. All of it. Just all the money.

If the real numbers were any good, he wouldn’t have made it so difficult to assess.

So, conclusion is numbers sucked again.

Did the press release mention how much money was raised from members of foreign governments?

There isn’t. Given how alarmed people are, especially republican donors and the RNC, is about how shockingly ill financed his campaign was heading into June, it would be imperative to report clearly how much of a haul they made in June. Instead, he released a convoluted report which appears to be double dipping and conflating his money with the total RNC haul for ALL republican races.

That’s a pretty good sign that his fund raising is still pretty anemic.

TMAGA = Make America Great Again (Super Pac) won’t show up on FEC reports in July.
DJTFP = Donald J. Trump for President (campaign) will show up on FEC reports in July.
RNC / Trump Victory = joint fundraising account typically splits at 80/20 candidate to party.

So bottom line, the July report will likely show Trump raised a little less than $40 million in June. It remains to be seen if the $3.8 million from Trump was another loan or actual donation.

It also remains to be seen if he’s forgiven the $50 million in previous loans to the campaign… and while it legally can wait until the August filing, it’s telling that he basically lied when he said it was done.

It will also be interesting to see how this plays when the reports are released on July 21 – the day he’s officially nominated.

There are two reasons the numbers suck: Trump and Preibus.

I was thinking along other lines, that $45 million of that $50 million was the previous “forgiven” loan.

Jeeeeez! After reading that, I had to conclude that “Trump Math” is harder and more confusing than “Bernie Math”:

HA! No doubt, it’s all a wash.

...the Trump campaign boasts that the "campaign’s newly established digital and small dollar operation rolled out fundraising emails which resulted in over $26 million dollars in donations for June."
And that's just from members of foreign governments!

God, you just made me shriek with delight!

Here is what they are hiding. In plain sight. They are hiding the fact that they have included as a contribution the $51M loan that Trump “forgave.” Once the loan was forgiven it automatically became a personal contribution to the campaign, which means that they actually raised almost nothing else during the reporting prriod. This seems so obvious that one would think that some genius in the press would have also figured it out.
