Discussion for article #238099

Can’t wait to see Karl Rove and the Koch Bros. in the swimsuit competition.

…and it was very easy to remove REELZ from my channel guide so I don’t accidentally land on it. I recommend others try it.

So the complex interactions that produce outcomes in unregulated markets had thrown Trump’s show off the air, but an interested party affirmatively acted to put it back on again because that was the desired result, market forces notwithstanding.

Huh.

What the fuck is REELZ and how many people have actually heard of it?

It’s not even on my cable service as far as I know.

Exactly what I was thinking. Despite the fact that I don’t know what the numbers on their subscriber base is, I CANNOT imagine they have enough to actually turn any sort of profit on this venture. There are more “cord cutters” than ever before; how many people actually get this channel anyway? And, as was mentioned before, this Rethug donor is picking up the rights to the Miss USA pageant, not Miss Universe which, by definition, must have a smaller viewer base.

rotfl…and now I must go wash my mind with bleach!

My feeling is, if he wants to throw his money away on a losing proposition, let him.

Maybe next time, he’ll invest in Sharknado, part 8. Or, better still, Atlas Shrugged, part infinity.

This may be all well and good for Donald Trump in salvaging the pageant but he will never ever erase the nasty comments about a group of people that came from his lips. They were vile, rude, undiplomatic and wrong. He owns that.

And for those groups that he has not attacked yet, what do you think he is saying about you?

Their programming seems to be rather shallow.

Hubbard Broadcasting might not be Fox, but it’s a sizeable media company. Hubbard owns a bunch of smaller outlets, like the ABC affiliate in the Twin Cities. That’s KSTP TV, the outfit behind “pointergate” where the mayor of Minneapolis was “caught” exchanging “gang signs” with a former gang member. And they ran a sensational story during the last primary about local Somalis engaging in voter fraud. Except, try not to be shocked, they weren’t.

Showing this Trumpastrophe on REELZ is equivalent to having your movie premier in a cave in the middle of Afghanistan.
And BTW, who the fuck still watches beauty pageants? What next, Roller Derby? Bowling For Dollars? A long-awaited revival of “Art Linkletter’s House Party”? But, I suppose, if these moronic Teabaggers will watch and idolize a talking slab of smegma like Bill O’Reilly, they’ll watch any shit a RW media maven puts on the air.

As usual, Republicans simply don’t care about the damage to the GOP brand among Hispanics/Latinos that’s being wreaked by Trump. Which is fine by me.

The current offerings on Comcast for me—mostly consisting of an endless number of fake “reality” shows, Fox, movie re-runs, and various sports channels—make “Art Linkletter’s House Party” look like “Masterpiece Theater.”
