Why, of course Michael Cohen paid Stormy Daniels, because Donald Trump didn’t even have sex with Stormy behind his then-pregnant wife Melania’s back - it was Cohen all along! Poor Donald never had a thing to do with this “trumped up” scandal! It’s absolutely obvious! Why, it’s as plain as the nose on your face!

I also have no sympathy whatsoever for Melania, the Birther Queen (see below). She knew what she was getting into. For crissakes, he was cheating on Marla with her. Like she didn’t know? “Oh, my! You mean Mr. Trump is MARRIED?!” Of course, it’s not like Trump’s name and image have ever been plastered across the front page of every tabloid, so I guess Melania is blind and illiterate. Pardon my flawless French, but “Fuck her and the prenuptial agreement she rode in on.”

The fact he is saying this now, literally screams that there was a big FEC violation involved because of the payment.
Because, why go there if you are Cohen? The Daniels story has gotten next to zero political traction…Trump has actually improved in the polls since it broke. The only reason I can come up with, is Trump has legal exposure that he is trying to get in front of.
Indeed, Trump’s FEC filings have some interesting payments from the campaign to Trump Org at precisely this time…namely that they made an unexplained payment of about $125K.

You can bet this money came through the ‘charity’ or a shell company or a donor’s largess. There’s no way on God’s green earth that Don peeled a hundred and thirty large out of his own pocket. Didn’t happen. As for Cohen, why’d he pay her at all? And where’d that money come from? And why the shell company?

I vote B, with a touch of C tacked on.
As I said upstream, it makes zero sense to try and defer this charge from a political standpoint. The media, and largely the voters and definitely Trump voters, have largely shrugged this off since the day it broke. His polling has risen slightly since the story broke. Clearly, its causing no political problems.
But there are potential legal problems. Namely, did FEC violations happen, as we all know that Trump is not one to spend his own money if there is plenty of other people’s money lying around. And on a campaign, there is plenty of OPM. Indeed, I am already seeing people reporting that there was an unexplained expenditure near the end of the campaign to Trump Towers for roughly $125K.

Paid out of my pocket = I removed the check from my own suit coat breast (hee hee) pocket and paid her.
I was not reimbursed = I was given the money prior to paying it out “of my pocket” (see above)

Why do these people make public statements they know can be debunked? Especially when they’re all at one another’s throats and willing to tell reporters anything to injure another member of the inner circle?
He didn’t say he paid her out of his own pocket. He said he “facilitated a payment” to her, using his own personal funds. It’s careful wording by a lawyer, but “facilitated” implies that he acted as a go-between.
Even if his statement is true, which of course is not a given, but even if it is true he’s only saying that two specific entities weren’t the ones making the payment that he “facilitated”, but that doesn’t deny that someone else was.
