“We are going to take our country and we are going to fix it. We’re going to make it great again,”
The thrust of this ad is no one currently thinks America is great NOW. It seems a lot of people should be bothered with Trump presuming they share his pessimism and negative outlook when in fact they feel for the most part the nation is in decent shape and headed the right direction. I don't see him winning in the general election when his main appeal is to the minority of citizens that are tinfoil hat wearing curmudgeons.Remember when Michelle Obama said in 2008 that (I forget why) she was “Proud of my country for the first time”, and was excoriated for not loving it BEFORE??
his is the same as that, but with white male Republican privilege thrown in!
I live in the NH media market, and lately it is all “Be very afraid!” Nonsense and phooey. The best ads were upbeat–from Sanders and Kasich. (A strange pairing, I know, but they were good ads.)
