Discussion: Trump's Irish Golfing Detour Cost $3.6 Million In Taxpayer Dollars

This “divisive” argument is i I have no truck for. Did McConnell worry about that when he thwarted PBO openly at every opportunity? Or when he blocked the Garland nomination to SCOTUS. Or when they enact laws to suppress our votes or restrict abortion rights?

Why are Democrats held to a different standard?

It’s self-inflicted. Very annoying. All these folks nostalgic for some period of bipartisanship that never existed, and unable to recognize that we’re never going back, so might as well play by the new rules.

Republicans revolted and terrible jobs numbers flipped him.

Yep. The real powers told him nope and he got the message.

He refused the meeting in Dublin and wanted to meet at his golf course in Doonbeg. The Irish told him no to the golf course so the meet happened at Shannon. Trump is not well thought of in Ireland.

Remember when Obama went there to visit his ancestral village? Quite a different reception.

That’s gotta be the worst thing for Trump. Comes up short everywhere. Obama goes to a basketball game…

Proof positive that Obama rigged the election for Trump. If he had been succeeded by Clinton, he’d not have adoring crowds everywhere, nostalgic for the days when he was President.

It would be… if he was a Democrat

I was going to suggest that this be enforced strictly…

Oddly, the foreign travel information is not available due to permissions.

Yep Yep Yep

The Republicans simply don’t care. They also don’t care about the hypocrisy. They are hoping your memories are as short as they think they are.

They may not go after him, but the Trump Org. and its officers may get a colonoscopy like tax screening.

Then we would see all the kids in orange PJ’s.

Wasn’t that Bill Clinton?

They are not even a party. It is a crime family and associates. The Trumpese Crime Family. Rhymes with the Lucchese Crime Family.

Just need to go through the State Department page. Ireland has $254/day (including meals) max. I’m guessing they’re slightly above that at the resort…

does that cover Don Jr and Eric, too … or is the Trump org. paying ?

Not just enforced but scrutinized to within a millimeter of compliance. And Republican amnesia will manifest once again.

Because we are better people?

Well that $3.6 million amount should be deducted from the wall and moved to DHS and HHS for more human holding facilities. We could also demand that the a portion go to more immigration judges to move the process along.
Or we could insist that the $3.6 million go back into the programs that were cut from the northern triangle countries’ aid.
