Well, since they’re scolding the state for so crudely violating the letter of the law while explicitly enouraging it to violate its spirit, my own question is why so prim? Maybe they just noticed they’ve nearly run down their litigation budget for the year, or something. It’s odd.

But I’m sure CMS Administer Verma quietly offered to sell Idaho her book on how to write laws to get around the ACA and get her approval for three low payment of $49.95 (shipping and handling not included)
What she’s saying is that she would face civil and possibly criminal penalties for approving such a waiver, especially given her already-documented conflicts of interest. So please set your residents up to die in a way that’s already been approved.

It’s a timing issue. Trumpp wants to roll out open flouting in October, closer to the general election.
“The goals” being to provide insurance for persons who cannot be served by the free market because the free market doesn’t see enough of a profit in serving them.
This is the the only option under Republican policy. Not everyone can be served by a for-profit system. Unless the government fills the gap, we’re talking about a nation that purposely and needlessly kills its citizens for profit.
