OK so now T.Rump has become the “Sarah Palin” replacement. Why can’t we have some honest journalism here. Why is it always a Palin, Bachman, Engles, Gomert now T.Rump. What is Sanders doing, what is ALEC doing where is the evil Karl Rove and what deeds is he up to. Not comic strip stuff, skulduggery, manipulations by lobbyists, a good discussion with Santorum and Huckabee about why they think their theocratic views can be accepted under our constitution or how they stands are much different from sharia?

Maybe we need to borrow a line from ole Trump himself and demand a copy of his transcripts!

Nancy had better watch her back. She was mean to The Donald, and he’ll get her for that.

Here…now do you remember him? Thought this might shake your memory.

He probably didn’t actually attend. With his dad’s influence and money, the school admitted him and didn’t care if he attended any classes. I’d wager he also had a stooge take his tests to maintain the cover. It’s analogous to McCain’s last place in his class yet somehow (Dad was a famous Navy admiral in WWII) he became a fighter pilot, lacking in a high skill set yet still a Navy pilot.

According to the information available he was in the undergraduate program for two years after a relatively undistinguished two years at Fordham, and was quite possibly admitted in part because of a friendly connection in the admissions office. He was not in the MBA program. And according to two reporters he graduated with no honors of any kind. In some mysterious fashion the idea has appeared in news reports for years that he graduated first in his class, but there seems to be no record that would back that up. Personally I would bet all of my modest possessions to his nickel that he was an average student.

Wait just one damn second, are you suggesting that Donald Trump is lying about something to make himself seem better? Those are pretty serious allegations and there is certainly nowhere near a mountain of evidence to support it. I bet you couldn’t find 10 billions examples of him lying.

Makes you wonder if he was one of those rich students like one of the Walton kids who hired other people to attend classes and write papers for them.

Every woman watches their back around Bill Cosby and Donald Trump.

The real estate mogul and GOP presidential candidate has said he was at the top of his class during his two years there, but his fellow students disputed that.

Nancy Hano, a former classmate, told the New York Daily News that Trump was “not known on campus for any reason at all.”

Now, now. I’m not going to defend Trump, but we really have to be careful with the writing here. The two sentences highlighted above are not in conflict, because they don’t concern the same thing. Whether anyone knew Trump on campus says nothing about whether “he was at the top of his class”. Maybe he was, and maybe, as MattinPA suggests, he wasn’t. But Nancy’s comment is totally, and utterly, irrelevant to the question.

It’s a little disingenuous when we “discover” that the scions of wealthy Americans get into prestigious schools and have undistinguished academic careers. Many of them have some success anyway (see, e.g., Bush, GW), and maybe that’s also due in no small part to their fortune in being the scions of wealthy Americans. But really, is this news?

I would think that if Trump was at the top of his class, he would have been “known on campus”?

My thought precisely!

EDIT: Why “Former classmates”, plural, when apparently it’s just one making that statement?

Nancy Hano, a former classmate, told the New York Daily News that Trump was “not known on campus for any reason at all.”

To be fair, he probably wasn’t wearing that thing on top of his head back then.

He questioned Obama’s academic credentials in a way that everyone understands is racist. If it’s not news, it’s fair. Also just anecdotally I’d say most of the students in a highly competitive school like Penn are aware of who the top academic performers are. Almost all were in the top rankings of their own high schools, went their whole careers getting various honors, it’s just part of the milieu. If they never heard of Trump I think it means something. He’s made it news himself by bragging about it all the time. I’m all for being fair but this scrutiny is hardly unfair in general and most certainly not in particular, given the individual we’re talking about.
