Discussion: Trump's Favorite Television Star? Himself

If it wasn’t so really really pathetic , there might be a note of humor.

A very sick man.

“People think it’s easy,” Trump said.

It’s not easy, no, and neither was what Charles Manson managed to achieve.

Donald explains the depth of his introspection and how he takes the measure of the man. Sad.

Let’s call it a piece of evidence regarding the mental health of the President of the United States.

But he is in charge, and she is not in jail.

That makes him a liar (he didn’t want to put her in jail), incompetent (he wants to but can’t figure out how) or ignorant (he didn’t know he couldn’t).

Yet he is proud of it.

After watching a recent rally video and of his debate performance against Clinton, Trump said: “I love the poorly educated, which includes me.”

I have some rather bold recommendations for how to cover Trump.

Trump is a master of distraction and deception. Here’s how to combat that and actually inform the public at the same time, which is ostensibly the purpose of reporting the news.

  1. There is no need to cover each and every new Trump idiocy. We have the general outlines already. Just create a Trump Tweeted Today section, with nothing but the latest tweets, presented without comment. Make it searchable by date, key word, and number of ALL CAPS words and exclamation marks (!).

  2. There is no need to cover each and every tweeted or spoken response to every Trump Tweet. File them under Tweeted Responses to Trump, searchable as above, cross-listed to Trump Tweets.

  3. Your main focus, in my humble/not humble opinion, should be to report on official administration policies and actions, with links to position papers, formal announcements, clips of spokespeople, executive orders. Throw as many [sic]s in there as needed, but offer without comment.

  4. Also report on major legal developments: the Manafort trial, Mueller indictments, etc. Do not include spin from the likes of Giuliani.

  5. Include a searchable section on publicly available legal documents related to item 4.

  6. Include a separate searchable section on Administration Spin. You can dump the likes of Giuliani, Sekulow, Conway, Sanders, ad nau. there.

  7. Include a section of analysis and punditry, linking to any of the above as needed.

I believe that the way to fight ourselves out of our state of moral exhaustion and outrage fatigue is to keep track of these categories and hold them separated in our minds so that we can rise above them and place each in their proper context. Also, I think it is very unhelpful to combine straight news with snark and punditry

Who could have imagined?

This man is in the same office as the man who wrote this:

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature.

Now we have a man who revels in the moments that should be remembered with shame.

I’ll throw in ‘impotent’, just because it would piss him off.

Trump is for Trump - nobody else ( apart from Princess ) .

Jeezus, Hillary smoked his ass in all three debates & he enjoys watching that ?

I now understand the Stormy Daniels/Forbes Magazine incident a bit more.

PT Barnum was a Carnival Barker. Sooooo…Vanity Fair was spot on when they called Donald Trump, some years before he decided to run for President, a Carnival Barker and a short fingered vulgarian. He has stated on the record his admiration for the World’s Central Casting Carnival Barker. Someone should take him on a pilgrimage to the Barnum Mansion in Upper Manhattan.

with all congrats appreciated to one Mike Judge,

Chuck Todd: You see, what we’re actually trying to do here is, we’re trying to get a feel for how people spend their day in the White House… so, if you would, would you walk us through a typical day, for you?

Donald Trump: Yeah.

Chuck Todd: Great.

Donald Trump: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way the American people can’t see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.

Chuck Todd: Da-uh? Space out?

Donald Trump: Yeah, I just stare at Fox News; but it looks like I’m working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I’d say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

Someone should take him on a pilgrimage to the Barnum Mansion in Upper Manhattan…

and stuff him head-down into a trash bin.
