Being farmers maybe they’ve heard this one: Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
Suckers.
Suckers is right and good enough for them. Tariffs and nobody to pick the crops.
Well, boo hooo hooo. They were so busy trying to hurt others they didn’t notice when the hurt turned on them. Reap what you sow is right.
And a large core of voters in Sioux County, where Franklin Roosevelt was the last Democratic presidential candidate to win, remains with Trump, even if the farm economy suffers as a result of his trade policies.
“You have to have faith in our innovation and entrepreneurialship in this country,” said Ed Westra, a grain cooperative manager and Trump devotee. “You’ve got to think of the big game.”
You agrarian assholes didn’t vote for innovation and entrepeneurship. That would have been a vote for Hillary. You voted for a narcisisstic, vile, misogynist, racist, stupid pig of man (hat tip to you hog farmers). Shit, he doesn’t even know how the fucking Postal Service works. He knows jack about world trade. He doesn’t know the difference between tariffs and a VAT. He has no fucking idea of what advanced tech is. He’s a fucking con artist, and you guys bought a gazillion decaliters of Doctor Trump’s Snake Oil
If you bucolic cretins were thinking of the big game, you would know that whatever minor difficulties you are facing now will pale in comparison to what your progeny will face as the climate changes. Will pale as the soil becomes depleted and blows away, will pale as fertilizer and pesticide residue buildup poisons your children. And that’s just a few of the impacts you’ll face because of your lack of foresight. Fuck you all, you fucking ignorant, xenophobic, reactionary, racist rubes. Sit on a fucking corn cob.
An economically anxious Bart van den Heuvelbergen added: “Don’t get me wrong, I’m still all in favor of rounding up foreign-born children, forcing dark-skinned women to give birth in detention camps, and scrapping our democracy.”
Gosh, it’s almost like their blind devotion to the Orange Shitgibbon wasn’t in their best interests after all.
Too bad, so sad…
You are 110% correct.
Hell yeah!
All this just cause they don’t want to bake cakes for gay people or let women control their own bodies.
These are the people who lined up to see the orange stain and scream LOCK HER UP at the top of their lungs. They laughed when Trump made fun of the disabled, they snickered when he threatened the media they winked and nodded when he grabbed pu$$y. Let this be only the beginning of the price they pay. Watch as China targets these very states in their “trade war”. Karma is coming and it is going to be ugly.
And they voted for him enmasse. Probably will again.
Well…at least they can drown their sorrows for 30 minutes a week watching Rosanne. It was all worth it, right?
Yeah.
Kansas. Broke and re-elected the GOP anyway. These people are stupid.
This seems apropos for those living in the Farm [and Bible]Belt:
Hosea 8:7 “They sow the wind and reap the whirlwind.”
ETA: Did not see similar comments above before posting this…
Yo farmers: He said he would do this exact thing before you voted for him. This exact thing. I’d like to empathize respectfully with your newfound economic anxiety, but, well…
That’s okay. These bucolic bozos can’t even do a decent job of breaking wing. Shit, I gotta walk my dogs and cool down my anger.
“Sioux County is home to just 34,000 people, but more than 1 million hogs and 6 million chickens…”
“…who have all come home to roost.”
Enjoy the coming ruin that you guaranteed yourselves by “voting to shake things up”, jackasses.
Putin’s Bitch #1 in Swine Country … go figure.
I hear these snivelers crying and my heart soars. You voted for a traitor, you get what you deserve.
It isn’t just tariffs that has American agriculture worried. As you would expect, Mexico and Canada are two of our biggest markets for agricultural products.
The way that dickhead is messing with NAFTA causing instability and unpredictability, Mexico at least, is beginning to look elsewhere. They’ve started importing soy beans from Brazil and dairy products from the EU rather than buying the same things in the US. Not only are the prices about the same or slightly less, but other places are much more predictable than drumpf is. Even if drumpf gets around to agreeing to a rational NAFTA, the damage will largely be done because Mexican importers will have established links with other countries than the US. Given the state of the agriculture economy in the US, farmers of all kinds right now are barely hanging on. With more chaos, even more of them will go under.
I’m concerned this post is a little muted … I can sense you have more that you have held back. If it’s because you are concerned about legal repercussions then GOOD ON YA!!! Amen Brother!!
