Discussion: Trump's Budget Chief Claims Obama Admin Was 'Manipulating' Jobs Data

Obama seems to have more power over the Republicans than the Clenis - the previous record holder.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Trump and his enablers had the shit slapped out of them whenever they continue to blurt lies without any proof? Do they deserve anything less?

Mick Mularky doesn’t really believe that not raising the debt ceiling will hurt the Country.
““I do believe that defaulting on America’s debts would have grave worldwide economic consequences,” Mulvaney said in his written confirmation documents. “I do not believe that breaching the debt ceiling will automatically or inevitably lead to that result.”

Why would anyone listen to Mr. Mularky?

This is exactly why this loser was chosen by the President Bannon. He knows how to lie like the rest of them. Its a feature, not a bug.

Mulkaney passed Senate confirmation 51-49…straight party line vote. He barely squeaked by. I’d go into all the ways this guy is full of shit from just reading his Wikipedia page…but I no longer have it in me today. Suffice it to say, he’s what you’d expect from an uber-partisan toadie that will be more than willing to kiss President Bannon’s ass. He has no credibility to begin with, considering he’s just another fucking hypocrite, who unlike other appointees in the past would not have been voted in due to his own nannygate and failure to pay taxes. Plus he’s a teabagging idiot.

Yep, it’s all true.

Former Congressional Budget Office head Doug Elmendorf can talk about formulas and data collection processes and dedicated civil servants all he wants, but he doesn’t know what Trumpp’s administration knows. What the administration knows is that, every time one of those dedicated civil servants went to the break room to heat up their lunch or make a bag of microwave popcorn, they bureaucrats were being programmed to create fake job data.

Believe me.

We’re only a few years away from, “Killing liberals is not murder. It’s simply defending our freedom from those evil liberals that want to destroy this great country! If you love this country, you’ll kill as many liberals as you can.”

Yep. Back in early January, Obama was manipulating the data to make it look like December’s unemployment rate was 4.7%.

4.7%? Ridiculous. Puhleeeze. Totally wrong; not even close. Waaaaay off. Obviously manipulated.

The recently released jobs report for February, on the other hand, showed the exact same 4.7% unemployment rate. With Obama nowhere to be found, the reports must be entirely, 100%, unambiguously accurate.

I don’t see how any other conclusions may be drawn from this.

But it doesn’t if the economy added 230,000 new jobs, unemployment doesn’t go from 43% to 4.7%.

The saddest part of all is how inept these Trumpsticks are at lying. “The same stats we are celebrating today were fake prior to our arrival!” HUH? They don’t even respect their audience enough to create plausible lies – they just throw shit at the wall and hope something sticks. And, given the intellectual capacity of their bunghole supporters, they don’t need to offer anything in the way of evidence. They simply talk shit and these ® voters open their mouths like turkeys in the rain.

Silly ghost. It all depends on who you are counting. Exclude “those people” from the equation, and it makes perfect sense.

These are Obama’s job numbers. He’s arguing that this good report on Obama’s administration is correct.

You fking liars. I WANT EVIDENCE!!! I am sick and tired of the mofos just spewing sht because they think they have the ‘power’. PUT UP OR SHUT UP YOU NASTY LITTLE TWERPS.

Trump supporters think it does. Trump is a business savvy magician.

On the domestic side, the OMB director is more important than anybody else in the cabinet maybe save AG and Treas. That means this fucksicle is a gigantic crisis

This is the kind of statement that has to be pushed back on very very hard. Elemendorf did fine, but there has to be follow on from the entire profession. Not only that, but how can wall Street not see this as a huge problem. They have just added uncertainty where there was none. The US has the finest economic statistical measurement reporting in the world. Throw that into question and the cost of doing business in the US just goes up for everyone. That real money right out the f’ing door.

Without seeing the context for his statement, what you quoted above is technically correct nonsense.

It is correct, because borrowing enough money to push US debt above the debt ceiling, is not defaulting on debt; the Treasury’s primary activity is selling new debt to pay off old debt.

It is nonsense, because borrowing more money is not default, and default is not the what makes breaching the ceiling dangerous (not directly, anyway).

The problem with breaching the debt ceiling is that buyers of US debt don’t know if the US government is legally obligated to pay it back. If the administration and Congress are making the right noises about working out some differences and getting the ceiling raised in a a few days, buyers would probably be satisfied with a bump in interest rates to compensate for the extra risk. If the Congress and administration are warring, however, buyers will flee and the US will have to default on debt coming due. I would argue that the problem in that scenario is not that the debt ceiling is breached, but that Congress is authorizing expenditures while refusing to provide a means to pay for it. It is Congress’s default on its duties that is the cause of the troubles.

Is it really lying when someone actually believes the BS? That, more so than the lying, is the scary part.

Republicans have been living in their alternate reality for so long that many of them actually believe the garbage spewed by Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and others. This Trump presidency has shown that a lot of people really do belong to the cult of right wing media.

the level of depravity that these motherfuckers will sink too. All this so Trump the Rapist can say “these are the REAL NUMBERS! I deserve the credit!!” and his people will eat this bull shit up.

This is the most diabolical, scum-bag filled administration already, and he’s not even at the 2 month point yet.

Also, I’ll tell you this, I’ll only be convinced he’s going to be forced out/resign/impeached/jailed when it happens. Until then, I don’t buy it. It’s like we’re playing a game of chess with someone who can reach across the board and say “I don’t want you using your queen.” and he gets to throw your queen across the room. How are we going to get this guy? How? I think we need to stop with this pipe dream. In 2018, if we take back congress, that’s the only chance we’ll have for justice. Until then, they are going to keep laughing in our fucking faces.

I’ve never hated a man more. I loathe him with every fiber of my being. And anyone who works for him. Somehow, Trump makes me yearn for the Dubya days, and Kelly Anne Conway makes Sarah Palin seem pleasant.
