They’re regrouping right now, strategizing on how to get at Americans’ info without tipping them off.

President Donald Trump’s sketchy “election integrity” commission on Monday suspended its request for states to submit sensitive voter data…

Yeah, this entire charade seemed too convoluted and complicated from the start.
Better to just have the DOJ set about making voting hell for blacks, Hispanics and Dems and cut the pretense of being fair about it.

"You don't like it? Sue us. We have deep pockets, even if we lose we'll have the satisfaction of bleeding you dry in the process. See you in court."

The panel’s vice chair Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach ® announced in a court filing that the commission “sent the states a follow-up communication requesting the states not submit any data” until a judge rules on the Electronic Privacy Information Center’s (EPIC) lawsuit against the panel’s original request for voter data.

Translation: Fuck! A judge is going to sanction me again!

Tired of all the winning, Kobach?

I’ll celebrate for an hour or so, but then it’s back to work.

They won’t stop, so neither will I.

Conclusion: They will simply pursue voter suppression in another more creative and surreptitious way.

It’s the tried and true Trump way, after all.

They could just ask Russia, but I think they’re in arrears right now.

The entire planet is in arrears to Donnie. He’s OWED, and he’s gonna collect!!

The privacy advocacy group requested a temporary injunction against the commission’s data collection activities and accused the commission of violating the E-Government Act of 2002

My wife and I have an ongoing debate about whether the DT maladministration is really that ignorant of all legal requirements affecting governmental action or are simply so arrogant as to believe they truly are above the law.

@bluestatedon @thunderclapnewman But I thought the GOP had reduced politics to a zero-sum game. To paraphrase Newton, for every winner there is an equal and opposite loser.

I believe it’s both—they’re astoundingly ignorant, but don’t care that they’re ignorant since they believe in the Divine Right of Trumps to rule over us anyhow.

You’re both right.

Before the panel disbanded they all got a really swell button to wear.

Wow. They didn’t even go through the pretense of running it by a Federal Judge before folding…

To quote a different Newton (Newton Gingrich): “If the Soviet empire still existed, I’d be terrified. The fact is, we can afford a fairly ignorant presidency now.”
