Hard to imagine things getting any uglier than they already are.

But every time I think it’s hit rock bottom, I am again proved wrong and the bottom drops lower.

Ah, back again, I see.

Flake had better watch out. Trump is “presidential” again, after last night’s magnificent speech.

What tramp will kick is a hornet’s nest when he pardons Joe at this AZ rally. Hope he gets stung badly.

“It’s not helpful for the party to have this kind of internecine warfare going on.”

But on the bright side, it´s good for the country.

No script. Adoring, raucous crowd. This is set up for a cavalcade of inflammatory hits. Trump’s advisers must hate these trips. Kelly is in for a day of news coverage tomorrow questioning his abilities to keep Trump on message and out of trouble. I won’t watch, Trumps grates beyond description. But post-speech crime scene forensics will be a good read.

If you are a narcissist with no principles who is driven to win at all costs, there is no limit to how low you are willing to go. President Trump has repeatedly proven that he is willing to go far lower than any pol we have seen in recent national politics. In addition to Mr. Trump having no shame, he probably doesn’t even remember most of the horrible stuff he has said and done.

The kooksters that the Republicans could rely on to vote for them and then go away while the party went about the people’s business of tax cuts for the rich after the election are now demanding their due.

Ugly? Not ugly enough.

“Ugly President Continues Ugliness With Trip To Arizona”

I am an Arizona resident and I moved here for college in 1968. Been here since. I know this state. It’s landscape is stunning in a lot of places. But we do have some political zombies in the electorate and in state government. We do not need any more. A trump visit will only make things worse. And the likelihood of violence should trump pardon Arpiao is very real. Couple that with the habit of a lot of folk here going around armed and the mix gets very ugly.

Donnie Two Scoops, it’s safer for you to visit that base in Yuma you have on your schedule than to visit Phoenix. Of course listening to advice is not Donnie’s strong suit.

an example of donnie not taking advice…

In trump’s speech last night he spoke of Charlottesville in terms he should have used the day after it happened. Donnoe two scoops, you have now had 3 do-overs…too little and waaaay too late…FAIL

On the subject of Afghanistan you have proved your ignorance yet again. You have chosen a military solution for a situation that requires a political solution. If you don’t want the Taliban in power then you need a strong democratic government in place in the country… in plain language ‘nation building’. However many troops you send will not accomplish that end. And yeah, the world is a bunch more complicated and way mre difficult to deal with than you thought.

I, too, am a long time resident (since 1970), and currently live in a very right wing area - Mesa, Arizona, which is predominantly Mormon. I have been surprised to see a lot of folks come out in favor of pardoning Arpaio, including our one long term liberal columnist, E. J. Montini. I disagree with them all vehemently - I don’t care if Joe is 85 and I don’t care if his trial had some questionable elements. He is like Al Capone in that he was convicted on the least of his crimes. No one deserves to do some jail time more than Sheriff Joe. He epitomizes state sanctioned racism and he used the Sheriff’s office as his own personal vendetta machine and fiefdom for decades. It takes a monster like Trump to waltz in and pardon a monster like Arpaio. Makes me sick just thinking about it.

There is one thing that Trump excels at magnificently, i.e. in his role as Buffoon-in-Chief.
