I’m going to get Mexico to give your money back to you. Believe me. It won’t cost you anything.
Now, give me $18 billion dollars.
News flash. Ya still gotta pay Al.
Well IOKIYR
Oooooh boy! Trillion dollar deficits?? He just unleashed the hell-fury of TEH TEA PARTY!! Wait for it. Any day now those budget hawks will descend upon the Washington mall with their talons bared looking to tear the flesh off the fat of guv’rment! Prepare for the Obama treatment Mr. Trump! Because as we were repeatedly told at the time, TEH TEA PARTY wasn’t racist and they were, in fact, ideological diverse! Right? Tea Party? Hello? Can I get a, “Keep the government hands off of my medicare?”
♫♫Nobody knows the troubles I’ve seen…♫♫
Remember when the GOP touted itself as the party of “fiscal responsibility”???
(snicker)
edit
@fiftygigs, as we should all know $18 billion wouldn’t come close to covering the cost of a wall along the whole Mexican border…but consider for a moment what it would take if purchased from IKEA. Of course this leaves out the cost of buying land from owners, sub surface foundation prep, and the marshaling of resources and man power needed(roads for Big Bend access for example and more. Te numbers of pieces parts are fully calculated for 2000 miles. And the wall can be built with just one tool…
(retired guy here)…Works for me
Right on cue!!
The GOP trots out fiscal responsibility while spending America into the ditch once more!
Lucy and the football have nothing on us!
Sure but it’s kinda tough with the majority of seniors voting for Trump, as they do for every heinous GOP asshole. I’m beginning to think ending Medicare might be the way to go for awhile.
Then I’m screwed budget-wise. My fiscal outlay per month is carefully calculated unlike those spend thrifts in DC. Being retired I don’t have a choice. No “bonuses” here.
How much of that proposed budget ends up in Trump’s pocket?
What really irks me is the “centrist” “deficit hawks.”
It’s not surprising and barely news that Mulvaney and Ryan have shown themselves to lying snakes. Hell, they know they’re lying snakes.
But the “centrists” delude themselves into thinking they’re all about “balance.” And they get taken seriously by the MSM because they attack both sides equally (never mind that’s they’re being misleading and unfair). On one the NPR interview shows, I caught the president of the Committee for a Responsible Budget blathering on the other day about “both parties’ lack of fiscal restraint,” both parties’ hypocrisy, and other such false-equivalency nonsense.
Same here and millions and millions more like us.
Two more here.
There are millions and millions of us.
THey can’t help it.
Every conversation on msm about porter ends up with bill clinton’s name discussed.
Always trying to have it both ways. Right down the middle every time.
An IKEA wall? Goodie. I’m hoping that means it’ll fall apart after three years.
“Mick Mulvaney, the former tea party congressman who runs the White House budget office…”
Taxed enough already congressman is ok with a trillion dollar deficit.
“Trump’s budget is likely to curb crop insurance costs, cut student loan subsidies, reduce pension benefits for federal workers and cut food stamps, among other proposals.”
Among other proposals to gut the safety net…and maybe a few trump voters, too.
ETA
Centrist, balanced, delusional…
Best of all, when it gets wet, you can just buy a new one.
Yes, I also work for a living and am a middle class schnook.
What can America possibly do for it’s generally low-information seniors who continuously support the most regressive Republicans, while the rest of us struggle to see they don’t end up in the gutter? I’m frustrated constantly being painted as the enemy by hordes of Baby Boomers in MAGA hats who seem not to understand where Social Security and Medicare even come from!
People respond to economics and I’m all for forced responsibility for those who keep drilling holes in the boat.
