Corker is out saying this lunch is really just a photo-op for Trump. Corker is right…again. Deciding not to run for re-election - liberating.
Maybe some one should suggest to Trump that he invite more members up to the WH to watch a movie or football?
Wrong headline.
“Senators insulted by Trump still going to lunch with him.”
“Trump serves Senators humble pie- again.”
Lemmings!
He’ll serve jokey attacks, send ominous threats per Bannon - cloaked in the gutter - recruiting primary opponents - with a mafia-esque tone. Vote for my tax cuts. Or Else.
When he leaves he’ll tell the press that it went great! He has the greatest relationship with the GOP senators!
Within hours leaks will make it to TheHill or Politico or the Daily Beast about the awkwardness, and the taunts/jokey attacks.
Then nearly all will fall in line to vote to send our country towards fiscal default - er - Trump tax reform.
“But crucial details of the plan have yet to be worked out, notably what income levels would fit with each tax bracket.”
Not to mention the plan to do away with deductions for state and local income taxes or cap 401K contributions or eliminate home mortgage deductions. Any one of those would kill the bill in any sane discussion because of the impact on middle-class Americans. And without some combination of those, the proposed plan will blow a hole in the deficit/debt. It will be interesting to see how the Republicans spin this one.
If the Senators had any conscience they would publicly refuse to dine with Donnie and cite their reasons why.
“We believe the President and his brain-eating prions should be quarantined. I’m sure Mrs. Price will agree”

If anyone thinks crow is on the menu, think again.
“No. 3 Senate Republican John Thune of South Dakota said he hopes to hear Trump “drive home the message that he wants to be a partner, a constructive partner that helps us get accomplishments that help everybody.””
Senator Then followed up by asking the White House to also bring a pony for every Republican Senator, expressing his confidence: “The President is known for his generosity and always giving more than expected. His reserve, tact, and deep concern for others, even at the expense of his own reputation, is widely known.”
Senator Thune’s aides were then seen preparing the Senator’s daily medication for episodes of hallucination.
strong textI hope the food is good because eating lunch with Trumpy is like sitting down with a human Lactose Intolerance human.
All of 'em?
Kinda tough on the taxpayers.
Wait for Christmas at Mar-a-Lago…taxpayer funded…separate chartered flights for each of his Cabinet members…wheeee!!
That’s gonna be some Christmas. Instead of a creche and a Nativity play they’re re-creating a Moscow hotel room, moving it’s entire contents from the original location, and scouring Moscow street corners for look-alikes.â€
†-Younger, of course.
Corker calls it political theatre. Amazing how candid a politician can be when he’s not worried about re-election.
Twitler continues the insults.
The Senators should bring their tasters with them.
But crucial details of the plan have yet to be worked out****
Hmmm…where have we heard this before…?
A main course of self-praise, ignorance, and thinly veiled threats, followed by a dessert of inane remarks to the press.
All to be followed in coming weeks by a series of “thank you” notes in the form of tweets that contradict any commitments Trump might have made.
