She left since she had no power as a mere woman. A mouthpiece, that’s all. Only men like Bolton, Gorka, and Tillerson had any power and even Tillerson soon learned how limited his was. Haley also likely hated all the anti-woman venom displayed by Trump and his old white men. She never fit in as a darkie!
The Really Bad Hair Chair. Formerly held by Robert Bork.
Anyone who works for Trump and doesn’t turn around and testify against him to Mueller is a dirty traitor, including this low-rent fraud Haley. She is nothing more than a grifer using her brown face to pretend those literal scum called Republicans give a shit about women and minorities.
She’s a scumbag and needs to be investigated.
Lol! I can just imagine Gorka peeling out of the UN parking lot in his mustang in a huff because someone was mean to him in the hallway…
My first thought on hearing about her resignation was “Bolton probably pushed her out in favor of one of his cronies”… but frankly that’s because I detest Bolton and tend to see his actions everywhere. My internet went out for a few minutes yesterday and I’m pretty sure that was also John Bolton’s handiwork (j/k). Anyway, supposedly Bolton was as surprised as anyone else. This is really quite mysterious.
As much as I dislike Haley for being a willing enabler of this administration, it’s worth noting that she was one of the saner choices they could have gone with. At least she’s capable of being somewhat diplomatic, and is reasonably intelligent. No guarantee of either with the next nominee…
I was thinking the same thing.
The UN will not be a fun place when borders functionally disappear as millions of people search for clean water.
Sounds about right.
This is the same bunch that did not have a problem with John Bolton at the UN during the Bush administration.
Yep. These guys got what they wanted, but they don’t want what they got.
LOL. Republicans mourning the loss of a ‘moderate’. I’m sure there were many in the Nazi party that mourned the loss of their moderates too. Some of the, I’m sure, were good ‘people’. At least history will treat the modern Republican party with the same fairness the Nazi’s received.
I am thinking Nikki’s resignation has to do with Michael Wolff’s conjecture.
Nikki is looking down the line for an opportunity that wouldn’t come until after the mid-terms. She obviously has her eyes on a particular prize. Nikki Haley is just as opportunistic as the next politician. She sees stepping stones all over the place.
How any woman, anywhere in Government, can continue to serve and mollify the Great Orange Pretender is beyond my understanding. From the beginning and a certain videotape, before his election, it has been clear to just about anyone who can think what the creepy cretin oozing around in the Oval Office thinks of women
loyalty to public service is a fine virtue, and I understand that is what keeps a good many of the individuals suffering along under impossible conditions.
But the melee that as and still is the Kavanaugh conformation, like a sudden cold snap, caused a good many fig leaves to fall away, and in the moment, what little cover these stale old white men:“needed” so much is now gone.
Frankly, I am surprised that there are any women whatsoever left anywhere in the Executive Branch at all. Maybe Haley’s departure will start a trend. I hope so. Women of intelligence and accomplishment have done great service, and ought to be applauded for it as often as is practical and deserved. But being saddled with a cretin for a boss eventually stains the people who work in the same environment, and no one should have to pay that price or Public Service.
In my own fondest dreams, I’d love to see the Orange Goofball slither into the West Wing one morning and discover that there are no female staffers left anywhere except the top White House jobs. I’d love to see what state the “administration” would find itself in, like the ability to do anything at all grinds to an absolute halt.
Government shutdowns have been weapons of political terror for too many years. Perhaps if women in government jobs everywhere would stage a “sick in”, or something very like it (Who could blame them?) a “Government shutdown” could be among the most important and teachable moments since the fights for Sufferage and Civil Rights.
She’s never been a moderate. The Party just passed her on the extremism scale.
it’s worth noting that she was one of the saner choices they could have gone with. At least she’s capable of being somewhat diplomatic, and is reasonably intelligent. No guarantee of either with the next nominee…
Quite right. And in the end, it’s only a difference of the speed at which the latest nominee for anything propels us toward the fascism event horizon.
I’m coming around to the notion that, in praising Kushner as a “hidden genius” (which simultaneously boosts her cred as a hidden comic genius), she may be telegraphing who’ll be next. I mean, why not go for straight-up nepotism, push that envelope even more after Kav? He’d be better than Gorka, but then again, that sax-playing seal I just saw would be more diplomatic than Gorka, and is probably easier to listen to.
She will be challenging Trump in 2020.
Conservatives will smile.
Since when is constant chaos conservative?
The one where no one has been vaporized in a Tweet-triggered nuclear Armageddon (yet).
Hey, Rethugs, look on the bright side at least there weren’t those pesky mobs out there protesting.
@maricaibo
I hear Sebastian Gorka is looking for work. That is the most frightening sentence I’ve read in a long time. Therefore, that’s probably exactly what will happen.
There is a striking resemblance to Goebbels.
