Well like my Grandmother used to say…It’s an evil wind that blows no good. I don’t think there will ever as in EVER…be peace between the Israeli’s and the Palestinians and America’s continued quixotic participation in the sham pursuit of it is a waste of all we put into it. There is no good guy in that mess. The Palestinians in Gaza have chosen Hamas to lead them. Fucking Hamas. Israel can’t get enough of Netanyahu and their hard far right. They launch rockets from Gaza at anyone they can kill and they bulldoze homes in the settlements and steal the land. The USA’s evangelical driven love of Israel destroyed it’s credibility with the Palestinians. As Josh Marshall pointed out every deal we offer them entails that they get nothing. Israel doesn’t give a rats ass about the USA, proven by their leader coming here to insult ours. Yet they are the largest recipient of American foreign aid.
There will never be peace there. All Trump’s doing is stoking the fire that’s been burning there since WW2 when the only realistic role for the USA is to minimize the killing. America should get real about that part of the world.
