NEWS FLASH: This will all be forgotten by next Tuesday.
You heard it here first.
As it should be. This is a history-making, earth-shattering, bold, brash, innovative pile ‘o nuthin’. Cowardly kowtowing to every lobby that ever passed a lawmaker a briefcase full of money. Swampier every damn day.
Convenient timing. Faux News will have an article in about 20 minutes that claims this “crackdown on drug prices and the pharmaceutical industry” proves all the Cohen-Novartis-bribery stuff is fake news and all just part and parcel of the deep state conspiracy witchunt to bring Trump down.
“Staffers said the new steps coming Friday could be taken immediately without action by lawmakers…”
“…and include licensing for thousands of Opioids-R-Us drive-through locations throughout the rural South.”
In Rose Garden remarks at the White House, Trump called his plan the “most sweeping action in history to lower the price of prescription drugs for the American people.”
Huh! I just noticed the reference to “most sweeping action in history,” and realized that applies to almost everything this Dotard does. He can claim the biggest, loudest, craziest, dumbest, irreconcilable, pointless, and fewest accomplishments in history, and in most cases, he’d be right.
Well, I suppose flooding the market by handing them out in their own convenient Pez-like dispensers certainly would be one way of lowering the street value…errrr…I mean price…
Don’t worry, it really will happen for this WH with the FBI at the lead.
Keep in mind here how Trump works.
Step 1 is always “look what I’m going to blow up!”
Step 2 is always “what’ll ya give me not to?”
This may be just Step 1.
Of course, considering his bellicose rhetoric towards the pharma companies during the campaign, THAT could very well have been Step 1. Cohen’s shit being the answer to Step 2. And Step 3 is what ends up happening instead, so maybe this is Step 3 after all…a muted, milquetoast approach to controlling drug pricing. hmmm…
speeding up the approval process for over-the-counter medications so patients can buy more drugs without prescriptions.
This is not necessarily a good thing. Drugs that require a prescription are mostly covered under insurance policies and Medicare D. Drugs that you can buy over the counter generally are not covered.
Yep …
Especially if his earlier comment today fluffs out … World Peace …
(comparatively speakin’ … of course …
“… and are expected to drastically reduce the prices of Propecia and various other drugs which stimulate hair growth. Phase Two, which is expected to go into effect next month, will do the same for the prices of Viagra and Cialis.”
If this were really a good plan, they wouldn’t be announcing it on Friday afternoon.
Well, you know, after you’ve done the near-impossible and invented the kick-ass phrase “priming the pump,” achieving World Peace is relatively easy.
If an industry associated with Health Care is spending 40% of revenues on advertising…
Well, that is all you really need to know…
You know what ya prime pumps with ? ? don’t ya ? ? —
vaseline
lots and lots of it ! —
BTW biotech and pharma stocks went up after this.
It’s just a shame that Donnie will inevitably screw up and minimize what really is an important topic.
I have a family member who requires a monthly prescription that has been running about $400 per month, with 10% - 20% increases on an annual basis.
I just switched it over to a Canadian mail order pharmacy and will be getting a 3 month supply for about $100 less than what a 30 day supply cost at a US pharmacy.
Same exact drug…
Trump wants to put Cohen in their place, a better deal for him.
Same thing in Mexico …
That’s why we need the wall … keep the savings out … er drugs …
but we can only do one wall at a time … ( appearances …ya know —
We’ll get to the Canada wall in donnie’s 3rd term —
