Discussion: Trump Wants The US To Take In Syrian Refugees (VIDEO)

At this point, Trump is playing with ‘house money’. Plus seeing how the field wants to be like Don, expect them to follow in certain ways.

At that point in time, ISIL was not necessarily the leading rebel faction, either. There was no unified rebel notion on what a post-Assad Syria would look like…except that Assad would no longer be the leader. ISIL was adept at playing the factions off against each other, and letting them do most of the heavy fighting, while they moved to consolidate rebels gains to be their own in the back. Then when the perceived that they had enough critical mass to move into areas of a weak Iraq, they did.

Because kowtowing to the Donald has proven so fruitful for their own dying campaigns? Agree with you though that he is playing with ‘house money’. Nothing lost, nothing gained really. He’s still able to get away with no consequences for saying the most batshit crazy stuff. Even when he has a lucid moment, he still manages to garner the kind of attention they only dream of getting.

We can only be sure he’s not talking about multiple airlifts on his Trump planes and accommodations at his luxurious real estate holdings. He’s only putting out the next campaign slogan which does not translate into a presidential governing philosophy.

But something has to be done. It’s an unbelievable humanitarian problem."

One of the basic reasons is right in front of them (and everyone else): Trump knows how to still make lemonade. He took a Redford quote that he knew wasn’t favorable to him and he trimmed the fat from it. Some yokel is going to believe that Redford (a conservationist) favors a guy who doesn’t believe in global warming.

They were begging before, because in some of their ‘wheelhouses’, they were under the impression that Trump’s phenomenon was fleeting. Right now what he has said has given the others an opportunity to stake a claim for humanitarian needs. Kasich because he wants to still be seen as a moderate is the sublime. Huckabee (because of ‘Jesus’), because he can be seen as a ‘compassionate Christian’.

please direct your fire to Chuck Todd and Roger Ailes.

Don’t laugh, but an ad that embraces that and bashes Obama can be built around that sound bite.

If the administration could put a video trashing Cheney using his own words, it would be simple enough for opposition candidates to put out a similar video trashing The Hrumph with his own hyperbole.

Redford (a conservationist)

Also, somewhat OT but Redford is making appearances promoting a film called A Walk in the Woods, true story about two men who walked the entire Appalachian Trail, about 2100 miles, and no one who heard Sanford talk about his own walk will not giggle at the reminder.

I think some perspicacious journalist (there must still be some, right?) should look into this sit-down chat between Bill Clinton and Drump about the time that Drump decided to run. The idea of Drump cleverly sabotaging Republican hopes of retaking the White House seems increasingly plausible. Heck, even Roger Stone may be in on the scam as his crowning achievement in campaign skullduggery.

Sometimes, there are only two bad options. With the benefit of hindsight, there was a time when Assad was so weak that a minor push would have toppled him. Perhaps providing weapons to the insurgents. In the light of later events, that course might have been preferable.

I am not saying that President Obama should have gone to war. But actions and inactions of any American President have consequences, and to argue that the current mess in Syria is totally unrelated to the inaction which President Obama took is a bit unrealistic. I do not know whether action (= war, or at least some military intervention) would have been better. But inaction also lead to disastrous consequences.

They could (the last person who tried to ‘dance’ with Trump was Rand; Jeb might fall into…wait a minute, what am I saying?/Its Jeb) and it would fall under normal rules. Here’s the thing: if they were to go that route, would they be prepared for the inevitable retaliation. After all, its Donald Trump and chances are he’s been waiting awhile for this type of fight.

As for the Appalachian Trail…I hate Mark Sanford.

and replaced him with whom?

Be careful with your answer, because there is a unity government in Baghdad who are still trying to find their legs.

there’s already a program for that. Now its the second go around in regards to this type of aid, but its a start right?
