Trump on Tuesday also said “any increase” in insurance premiums would be “the fault of the Democrats for giving us a ‘product’ that never had a chance of working.”
Except that it was working and many people, even in red states, know that to be the case. When premiums go up or when people are forced to buy worthless health insurance, they’ll know its Trumpcare to blame.

The catch is that there are actually a lot of people who would be very happy to be able to buy cheap health insurance. These are people who are poor judges of risk. They think that as long as they have “health insurance,” it doesn’t matter that the policy they bought covers only a broken right humerus that occurs on an odd-numbered day in February.
I’m reminded of the doomsday preppers who are perfectly situated to endure Disaster X, but are woefully unprepared to handle Disasters Y, Z, Q, A, and G.

That’s a little harsh. High-functioning alcoholics who can drive a bus or take out an appendix while slightly buzzed all day deserve our respect. At least compared to Donald Trump they do.
