Discussion: Trump VA Pick On Rocks Over Allegations Of ‘Hostile Work Environment,’ ‘Excessive Drinking’

And another figure has their stellar reputation exposed as a house of cards as a result of their getting in bed with Trump.

Ok Yesterday we had this

http://forums.talkingpointsmemo.com/t/discussion-wh-veterans-mystified-at-why-jackson-wants-to-move-into-trump-era-politics

I guess the answer now apparently is “Any port in a storm” ?

Sen. Tom Tillis (R-NC) told Politico that the discussions were mostly “conversational” and that the hearing may be “pushed back pending a review of some of this stuff that, like I said, I’ve only heard on a conversational basis. I think that’s where we’ll spend our time this week.”

WTF does that even mean? Discussions are conversations, so I would expect them to be conversational.

Why does it seem to him like a good idea to avoid saying they really need to investigate? Is Jackson his best hope for putting the tyranny of forced handwashing behind us?

(If you don’t get that reference, google the good senators position on handwashing).

Either that or “give me a clean bill of wealth… sorry, health and I’ll make you head of the VA!”

Here is the thing, by association, Jackson’s reputation and work are being seen through the small portal of his time with Trump as §resident. He has been active with Obama as well as other patients an duties far longer, seemingly without issue.

If we are allowing ourselves to perform a “witch hunt” simply because he is connected to Trump today, then it is being disingenuous at the least. What I am saying is we have to be careful to not start being like the other side. Keep facts, facts. We certainly do not need to make up or nit pick with this administration.

Jackson shows no management background that implies he can step from a very small venue to an immense bureaucracy and perform effectively. This is another example of Trump not having or applying his own management skills in selecting appropriate people and skill sets to the task.

Day drinking on the job. Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?

Don’t laugh…Its just a matter of time before Adm. Jackson exits stage left and Dr. Vinnie Boombotz enters stage right. No Senate approval necessary.

From Wikipedia:

The White House Physician is often selected personally by the President, and most White House doctors are active-duty military officers, in part because most civilians would find closing then reopening their private practices difficult.

Betcha they wish they’d codified that shit now. Its just a matter of time before another long-held norm will quickly be thrown out the window under this administration.

That said, Trump seems to have a corrosive, corruptive power over people. He plays to, and brings out, their worst instincts.

Can’t wait to see the puka beads on our new White House Physician.

Excessive drinking on the job???
That supposes there is an “ok” amount of drinking on the job, does it not?? I sense a problem here…

Bottle in the desk?

Well, he was Obama’s physician before he was Trump’s. Just an historical note.

He deserves a fair investigation that doesn’t jump to conclusions just because of DT being his benefactor, and if it turns out that the allegations are BS, that should be good news that all are willing to share. Then he should get a fair hearing that takes his lack of mgmt experience into account.

But if the allegations turn out to be true, I have no sympathy for the guy. Not only would that background be disqualifying, but the fact that he put himself in this position would bode poorly for the ability to turn the VA around.

Wait, there is an appropriate amount of drinking a doctor can do on the job?

Indeed. Freely flowing booze and a Doctor handing out pills like candy definitely doesn’t sound hostile to me. It sounds like a typical Friday night!

Dude…its the Trump administration. I just WISH we could write off all the stupid stuff they attempt as just due to being drunk.

I think we might know who supplied the booze at the recently disclosed White House Staff’s drinking game…

Ummm…that may not be all that happened there for all we know.

Before answering that question, maybe we should ask Hawkeye Pierce and his fellow Mash physicians… and nurses.
