Discussion: Trump Unveils Plan To Rebrand NAFTA While Still Complaining About Canada

“Rebrand.” I love that. It’s just NAFTA with more bullying–he gets some concession and then loudly brays it’s all fixed. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and predict that however long this walking haggis bag stays in office, he’ll leave without having actually created anything. All he’ll have done is break stuff and take credit for the achievements of others.

Hmmmmmm…not sure the Marines are gonna be pleased with this.

That’s all he’s ever done; it’s all he knows.

Rebranding is what he does best. For example, they used to be called perverts, liars, sexual harassers, but now we just call him “President”. But underneath, it’s the same dirt bag we’ve all known and loathed.

Yea but USMC has such a nice ring to it…winning…

The USMC, with their “looking for a few good men” tagline are not going to appreciate Trump -of all people -appropriating it.

Why not skip Canada and call it SNAFTA–The Southern North America Free Trade Agreement?

IOW: this whole charade is a farce.

And remember President Rebrander wanted to brand the tax cut “The Tax Cut Cut Cut Bill”. (Known by others as the bankrupting America policy)

One wonders whether it’s going to be Kelly or Mattis who tells him that USMC is already taken.

Anyway, I’m surprised he doesn’t want to call it the TFTA (Trump Free Trade Agreement).

I understand that the holdup is that Canada insists on a wall along its southern border to keep undesirables out and they insist Mexico pay for it.

What a shallow, pathetic individual.

I bet those that spent $1,000,000 had the most dissapointing 10 minutes of their lives.

And the concessions will definitely not be worth the loss of trust in the US government.

Not just a loss of trust amongst Canada and Mexico that the US doesn’t stick to its words, but the entire world, which will see this as further evidence that any deals made with the US may not even worth the paper they are written it.

Other countries are likely to reduce the number of pacts they sign with the US where the benefits to them will be more than a presidential term in the future, because Trump has broken the rule that the vast majority of US presidents followed to uphold international agreements agreed to by their predecessors.

Have you seen some of their “good men” doings lately? Looking at you specifically John Kelly.

I can see it now… who allowed them to take that name, I made it up, how dare they take the name, deep state, deep state they are all against me, me, me, me, me…

No doubt. I’m only commenting on the bogusness of the whole exercise. When you zoom out, certainly our trustworthiness as a partner in any kind of arrangement has been seriously damaged and will suffer for decades after Trump is gone. I hope I live to see it renewed, but I’m not young.

Not if their companies needed a tariff waiver.

How about SNAFU - Southern North America Freetrade Union?

Appearances seem to be that trump likes having his ring kissed directly. Money isn’t enough.
