We’ve accomplished an economic turnaround of historic proportions,
Turnaround from what? It was and had been going up when you inherited it.
I’m guess it will be Obama’s fault when it drops off next quarter.

And then today
Last paragraph from today:
In short, one quarter’s growth is a nothingburger. The real news is that we’re still waiting for both the investment surge and the wage gains the tax cutters promised; as far as we can tell, they’re never coming.
Just wait for the next quarter, a lot of trade was done to preempt the tariffs, it will come back and kick you in the ass…
“Once again, we are the economic envy of the entire world,” Trump said, adding that “America is being respected again.”
Envy and respect? I don’t think those words mean what you think they mean.
And even these will probably be adjusted down. And then take into account the deficit increase, granted that doesn’t matter now.
OT- but a minor victory at the EPA:
In a three-page memo to his deputies, acting administrator Andrew Wheeler said he would withdraw the “no action assurance” the agency had given the manufacturers of glider trucks on the last day that his predecessor, Scott Pruitt, headed the EPA. That letter assured firms that they would not have to limit their annual production to 300 vehicles through the end of 2019.
Maybe Wheeler won’t be as bad as assumed?
You hit the nail on the head.
Now when Dems are in control they will suffer from the run away deficit caused by the GOP break.
Granted Obama failed to screw up gas prices, health care costs, housing values, trade tariffs, but Obama was digging out of a major recession.
I’m sure Obama would have gotten around to screwing over farmers like Trump if he just had a little more time.
Do I correctly recall Trump touting the economic numbers even before he was sworn in, because his election had brought such a positive new “spirit” to the land? He’s always touting intangibles like that you can’t measure or check on. Also he’s historically unpopular even with a strong if inequitable economy. People have been taking that for granted, but any bobble is going to hurt him.
Yet per this page Obama’s percent deficit increase was same as Dubya’s.
Trump’s first quarter numbers were adjusted down to 2% from I believe 2.5%.
The most accurate estimator of these GDP numbers predicted 3.8% when the final adjustment is done.
If you’re going to go on a quarterly gauge, Obama had 5.2% GDP growth in the third quarter of 2014:
That was managed without a budget busting tax cut or tariff effect.
Rip-roaring economy all right.
That’s why Trump is trying to bribe farmers, because they are doing so well.
Yeah all things considered, especially the soybean rush, this really isn’t that impressive!
What a frickin’ blowhard
OK. You got your big economy numbers. The biggest and best ever.
Now, don’t you think it’s time to quit while you’re ahead.
Resign now, before it’s too late.
CAT will be reporting Monday. The market will be looking at those numbers very carefully. They will be hurt by steel tariffs. More interesting will be what they say going forward. Call options slightly outnumber the puts for now. Depending on what they say, the market may react more strongly than usual.
I guess “economic envy” explains the hordes of Swedes lined up to immigrate to the U.S.
I’m confused, however, why tourism has dropped. Doesn’t everyone want to come and witness the Mango’s miracle?
Since we are the “Economic Envy of the Entire World”, and the World did not give Trump credit for this, he is now trying to destroy our economy.
You ugly, ugly fool! We USED TO BE envied because of our democracy! We were a brilliant experiment! I can’t stand this lying idiot, every word out of this mouth (except may be "the’) is ridiculous! The American people are not (as a rule) being blamed for tRumps idiocy by the outside world. But we are being watched very carefully in the world to see what happens next. Will the American people just roll over and let tRump and the deplorables continue to ruin this country? This remains to be seen…
“Once again, we are the economic envy of the entire world."
So was Rome at one point. Don’t let it go to your head.
