Discussion: Trump To Speak With Putin Over The Phone On Tuesday

I sure hope the conversation is completely on the record.

With no 18 minute gaps…

Trump must be nervous. It is always scary when you are called into the principal’s office.

@lizzymom I dare say the only safe topic for the record for these two men is ā€œTuesday Afternoonā€ by the Moody Blues.

Justin Hayward’s legal team is ready to pounce … just in case lol.

Ooooh, don’t put one of my favorite groups and a favorite song anywhere in the vicinity of those two slimebuckets.

It’s sacrilege.

We will get the perfunctory one sentence Trumpian read-out of the conversation I’m sure. Rest easy.

I know I’m late to the party with this realization, but after hearing the NPR story this morning about European leaders now looking to Putin as the only politically stable world leader, I came to the realization that in a mere 103 days Dump has taken US from a significant force in world affairs to a second-rate power. Was this Putin’s overall goal, or was it an unexpected benefit of subverting a Western democracy?

Bad vlad must have something of unusual import to discuss. Most of the day-to-day work of governing and control is covered in Trump’s daily Oval Office meetings with the go-betweens.

Yes. He’s exploited and exacerbated the nation’s division, its broken political discourse, and its willingness to ignore expert advice and guidance. We still have the military, we can break things physically. But it’s like an individual with guns at home. It’s not the same as being powerful, being able to set the terms and guide things in directions you prefer, is it? We had our second chance when they gave Obama the Nobel just for not being Dubya. You don’t hear about third chances much in life. : (

Make up phone sex?

You’re a little late on that observation. CNN aired a documentary in the middle of last March titled " The Most Powerful Man in the World". It was not about Trump. I’ll post it at the end of my comment. Russia has a military budget of about one tenth of ours. Oil prices have been way down for over 2 years. Other commodity prices they depend on have also been down. If oil prices stay down for another two years, Russia will really be hurting. One can call Putin the frugal dictator, he’s figured out how to accomplish the improbable on the cheap. While the US merely talks about future cyber wars, he’s already won the the first one. If he can do the same in France as he’s done in the Britain and the US, we’ll spend years trying to recover from the damage he’s inflicted on democracy without firing a shot. About a month ago I read this comment in the WP where a person put forth two scenarios about Russia and the Trump administration:

Scenario: 2) Russia (Putin) ā€œRick Rolledā€ the entire idiotic RNC/Trump campaign, by intentionally suckering these gullible, power hungry people into meetings with the Russian ambassador, and other spies for future use. He then implemented a propaganda campaign to destroy Clinton’s chances of getting elected – Now, with the stage set… Putin simply watched in glee as Trump and his now compromised administration were inserted into power. Putin knew that the US two party political system would implode with investigations, negative media coverage, and most importantly… further DIVISION in America.

I think he’s onto something, except there will be no ā€œimplodingā€ investigations until the Democrats can win the House back in 2018. Do you really think that photo with Flynn, Jill Stein sitting with a smiling Putin in Russia was not staged and made readily available?

Come now, this is just the publicized conversation. They probably chat far more often.

Why does he need the phone?

If he faces his red ā€œfetch me a CokeĀ®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®Ā®ā€ button and talks clearly, Putin will hear him just fine.

Maybe that’s because in a lot of cases there isn’t even a second chance. On the positive side, I’m reminded of what my Little league coach used to say when he saw me swing at the first pitch and miss it by a foot:
ā€œIt only takes one!ā€

I don’t know whether to think that Trump is getting his orders, or that the two henchmen are working hand in glove.

On Putin being more powerful than Trump, yes!

This is all so ridiculous. Both men are showmen that spend time manipulated the ā€˜people’. That this is probably orchestrated worries me more than anything. ā€˜See there was no collusion! I said bad things about him and now it’s diplomacy. Like Obama!’ Twisting and turning and grifting. Donald Trump.
