The fact that he has to sign an executive order for the investigation instead of just asking the appropriate agencies – FEC, FBI, state authorities – to look into is shows what a sham this is.
I am seeing a bigger issue here:
Who is he ordering? The FBI? Then we have him basically forcing DOJ to do an investigation based on personal privileged. That’s a no no. It’s doable but generally still not done.
Congress? Can’t actually do that.
Also, is anyone keeping track of how many EOs he is doing so we can see when the right starts screaming imperial presidency?
