This is tRumps problem… let him solve it. There is absolutely NO reason for Democrats to cave on anything here.
It’s time for Schumer and Pelosi to look Trump in the eye and say, “This border wall of yours is a stupid idea, and would be a monumental waste of the taxpayers’ money. We’re never going to vote to fund it, because we don’t want to look as idiotic as you do.”
The Dems cannot cave. The last thing any of us want to hear is tRump bragging about how he got “his wall”.
Pretty easy for Democrats here. Tell him CR or no deal. If he wants to shut down the government over a border wall tantrum, let him. Democrats don’t even control the House yet, so GOP pretty much gets all the blame for a shut down till January.
Which one will be offered Chief-of-Staff? 
I don’t either, and that’s independent of what the smart politics and responsible policy is here. I just don’t want to hear the jackass braying about how he held the country hostage to force his enemies to give him his damn wall. The support isn’t there. And even compared to the federal budget, five billion bucks is a lot of money. People have needs here and abroad that could be met with that money. We don’t need a concrete wall to mollify concrete thinkers with concrete in their heads.
If Pelosi and Schumer were the last two Democrats on earth, Republicans would still be shutting down the government and blaming the two of them.
Our hands are tied Mr. President, you have the majority in both houses of congress. You want your stupid wall? Get it with Republican votes.

There they go again! They still control all three branches of government, yet they are already trying to frame the Democrats as being responsible for any shutdown. Until we respond quickly, or heaven forbid we play offense effectively in the messaging department, we will always lose the public battles. We’ll be seen as feckless as Schumer was in his wimpy stand and immediate cave on immigration. Most people supported overhauling immigration and giving DACA recipients a path to citizenship, If we can’t win on issues most Americans support, we are toast.
Explain it to me again why Democrats should clean up yet another GOPer mess. They put a criminal in the WH who insists on money for a vanity wall project that was supposed to be paid for by Mexico, they have majorities in Congress whose singular accomplishment in the last term was a deficit-busting giveaway to corporations.
Videotape it and bully him into agreeing with everything the Dems/American people want.
Opening position: Mr. President, think of this like one of your casino bankruptcies. Except, in this case, the way you walk away is by resigning. Would you like to do that right now? Otherwise, here’s a CR so Treasury can keep paying your bills. Are we done here?

Hopefully, this won’t be another snookering of Pelosi and Schumer by Trump. My misgivings are mostly directed at Schumer who in my opinion got the leadership through attrition.
With control of both chambers:
Republican congressional leaders have repeatedly said it’s up to Trump to cut a deal with Democrats, an acknowledgment of their own inability to produce spending bills with Republican votes alone.
How are the Democrats using this fact to shame the Republican Party?
And how will Schumer and Pelosi use it to get what Democrats want?
(The second question assumes that Schumer and Pelosi should be negotiating with Trump.)
This is where we find out if Nancy has balls. Schumer not so much.
Please, Schumer would have to find personal courage. Let’s see if Pelosi has it.
