Discussion: Trump To Meet With House GOPers Thursday Before Crucial Tax Bill Vote

I hope he tells them about his electoral victory or how popular he is in Asia.

May the Great Negotiator continue his success at getting the GOP Congress to make unpopular bills even more so.

As “tax reform” this bill is a hoax. It would be better named “ take from the poor and give to the rich.”

Is there anything funnier than Trump injecting himself into an actual discussion of policy and throwing around numbers? I can’t think of anything. He is trying to jump into the marathon for the last quarter mile and look like he was leading all the way.

“You can’t craft any tax bill that guarantees that every single taxpayer in America gets a tax break.”

Sure you can, Mitch, if that’s your actual goal. But that isn’t really your goal, now, is it?

Yet again, Trump will intervene in the legislative process with his deft touch — insisting on including his special brand of poison pill with the legislation, one hopes.

In case any of the congressmen in attendance are wondering, Trump will also no doubt remind them of his proven genius and past triumphs. Feels eerily like the health care process. One can only hope it gets the same result.

Moderate Republican Congressman with Balls:
Mr President, what are we going to do about that Sexual Predator?
Trump: Which one?
He looked me in the eyes and said “I never did that.” There’s only so many times you can ask…

Trump = the Rosie Ruiz of presidents.

This is the main reason Whiny got support from the wealthy. If he doesn’t deliver on this there is not a bus big enough in the world for him to get thrown under.,

The real question is: Are the GOP Cocksuckers getting hammered on this as they were on Health Care?

Exactly, I am neither an accountant nor a legislator, but I can think of two:

  1. Lower all tax rates - I’d prefer the lower brackets get the bigger decreases with only a token cut for the wealthy so the revenue hit is not too bad.
  2. Increase the personal exemption - this puts money into the pockets of everyone which includes a lot of folks who will spend it quickly and get it back into the economy.

As a bonus, here is an idea that doesn’t give everyone a break but doesn’t raise anyone’s taxes either 1. Increase the standard deduction. This doesn’t help me but doesn’t hurt me either and it helps a lot of folks who are less well off than I so I’m fine with it.

Well, that should end this fiasco and send the bill to the delete file.
It use to be poison pills, sneaky amendments found out just in time from those who decided to research it etc.
But this one is easy, the buffoon will stake his claim, threaten everybody and then spend 3 days tweeting about how they all failed him and the american people. Of course, The “it’s not my fault” clause will be front and center.

Or the “niboR Hood” bill.
