Yeah I guess I didn’t think of that even as I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for a reason to hold my head high…
But even if the rest of the world has him pegged as a temporary loser, I think they ARE laughing at us for being the suckers Trump proves we are. And they all would be fools not to take any advantage possible of our weakness while the taking is good.
It’s just a very uncomfortable position for us to be in.

Well over a million. Just the largest factory of each of the 3 Japanese majors, Honda, Nissan and Toyota, built 935,000 cars in America last year. And each has multiple factories here.

He wants Japan to outsource their jobs to us. But he wants our companies to stop outsourcing.
Now why would you even think that Trump would know anything about statistical analysis and its application to quality control and increased efficiency in manufacturing. The irony of Deming was he pitched his theory to American manufacturers before he took it to Japan and was literally laughed at by American CEOs. The idea that individual line workers should have the ability to stop the assembly line they found to be ridiculous. Then he was embraced by the Japanese who adopted his theories and proved them to be correct. I was in manufacturing planning in a company that was a vendor of GM back in the 1980s. GM tried to implement the JIT inventory principles based on the Deming theory and failed miserably because they refused to follow the essential rules Deming laid out to make it work. Upper management was shocked it did not work even though us lower level worker bees warned them what would happen it it was not implemented right. But hey what did we know.

I forgot them. Mitsubishi used to have a plant in Illinois too, but they closed it in 2012 when they de-emphisized the US market. Next, maybe he can ask South Korea to move manufacturing to America. They only make 350,000 cars a year in Tennessee.
