Discussion for article #247333
Guess what Donald? Words do matter and they come back to bite you in your obscenely gross ass. Wait until a class action suit for inciting violence lands on your lawyer’s desk.
“I Like People That Weren’t Captured, Okay?”
Poor sap: You said something that only an asshole would say. Are you an asshole?
Trump: I didn’t say what I said, and I’m not an asshole!
Poor sap: Okay, you’re not an asshole!
As a Vietnam war veteran, I do not understand why the media (conservative and liberal) give Trump a pass for his multiple deferments to avoid going to Vietnam, especially in light of his war mongering. What is the matter with these people?
They’re assholes, the lot of them.
There’s a word for people who say one thing and then claim to have said something entirely different when the are confronted directly. Donald’s a Coward, but we all knew that, didn’t we.
This story is linked wrong from the main page of TPM. Just saying.
Worse yet, is that anyone in the active military or even a retired vet would consider this man capable of being the next Commander-in-chief of our armed forces, let alone one of their family members. That is a frightening prospect.
Forget the fishing lure. A sharp hook would have sufficed.
Lies layered on top of lies layered on top of more lies.
They pretty much always have, because media. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the more wealthy & connected among us had a much better chance of getting a deferment. Hmmm.
Waiting for the film of this, and then looking forward quite cheerfully to seeing it in an ad followed by the original remarks. I really have to believe that three-quarters of Americans wouldn’t want to be in the same room with this crude, tactless lout, much less make him President.
From one Vietnam-Era vet to another…it’s because making a lot of money is valued more than serving your country.
Sad to say, but that’s about the only thing I’m looking forward to during this absurd election season - ads showing Trump’s hypocrisy. Videos will be so easy to find. It’s just a matter of juxtaposing them cleverly.
As for the rest of the Trump vs Hillary slog to November … I wish I could just sleep through it all.
“You know exactly what I was doing,” Trump said.
Indeed we do, Mr. Trump.
Love him pr hate him, he is a master liar and manipulating his lies when he’s called on it. I just hope he continues down this road as the longer he goes on this way, he assures us a cake walk into the WH. Of course, that could change if HRC is the nominee and Bernie supporters who are threatening to not vote.
It is amazing how much the media talks about his support but little about the fact that he has more republicans who don’t support him than do. The man has about 35-37% of the republican vote. That means there is more than 60% of GOPers who do not want to see hime elected. Even the WSJ has said a Trump nomination is a Dem win for the WH
"John McCain has not helped a lot of people like he should"
True, but John McCain helped a great number of people by not getting elected President of the United States. Of course, he had a lot of help from his running mate in accomplishing this. Let’s hope that Trump will be able to help the same people just as much.
OFF TOPIC but has Josh posted anything about fixing this glitch. It is so fucking annoying. (I may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning)
That made me laugh outloud
