Discussion: Trump To Announce VP Pick Friday Morning In NYC

If you line those 4 miscreants up, they look like a right-wing, white male version of a Russian nesting doll, with Christie as the outside shell and Gingrich as the tiny one in the middle.

Michele Fiore or David Duke? ~goosebumps!~

OR…Dick Cheney! (⊙.⊙(☉̃ₒ☉)⊙.⊙)

I am mystified by Pence, does he not want a career after this?

Much has been said about Trump’s mop of hair, or whatever that is, but the baseball caps have to go!! America remains great!! More transparency with Donald’s income taxes and real follicles, NOW!!!

I still think it’s a tease, and that he will name the Alaskan pole dancer, who, if he wins, will also become the official Oval Office cigar humidor.

I don’t think she has serious money or fundraising potential, and that is probably what drives the VP selection.

Did the story about Trump’s lousy fundraising just die or is it sleeping ?

It’s just sleeping. FEC reports are due on or before 7/20.

thanks, but it would be nice to know how much money Trump is spending right now, a real reporter ought to be able to get some idea about that…

Sadly he doesn’t need to fund raise as the MSM will give all the free airtime he desires.

Apparently he’s in big trouble in his re-election run. Local Republicans hope he’s chosen for VP so they can run another candidate.

Good rundown of Mike Pence’s single disastrous term as governor on last night’s Maddow show. The quote regarding his fellow Republicans’ desire for him to get off the ballot in IN is near the end at about 14:45.

Agreed. I also saw the TRMS report. I gotta think it easier to comeback from a local defeat than to tie one’s wagon to trump. Many an elected official has comeback after a loss.

Yeah, who knows what calculus is at work here. There’s also a lot of speculation that the Pence leak is just a trial balloon, although the IN Republicans would have to have an alternative gubernatorial candidate file by July 15 - coincidentally, the day of the announcement. So I guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

If Trump picks Rubio, he’ll have to walk it back immediately. The Constitution says that the electors from Florida can’t vote for both president and vice president candidates from Florida. Trump’s legally been a Florida Man since 2019. (see below)

If Trump wins and Florida’s 30 electoral votes make the difference, then those thirty would have to vote for Trump and someone else for VP. Then the Senate picks the next VP and, assuming there’s 50 Democrats, you’d have a Trump-Harris Administration.

The Electors shall meet in their respective states and vote by ballot for President and Vice-President, one of whom, at least, shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves ; they shall name in their ballots the person voted for as President, and in distinct ballots the person voted for as Vice-President… {snip} … The person having the greatest number of votes as Vice-President, shall be the Vice-President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed, and if no person have a majority, then from the two highest numbers on the list, the Senate shall choose the Vice-President
