Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Wednesday introduced a Senate bill — the “Stop BEZOS Act” — that would require large employers such as Amazon.com and Walmart to pay the government for food stamps, public housing, Medicaid and other federal assistance received by their workers.
Me too. These large retailers have decimated so many jobs, businesses and livelihoods that all of us are now paying [externalities, folks] for their success.
The Sanders motion is not going to go anywhere but it will help us remember that they have had such success because the profits from the many trampled underfoot are now funneled directly into their own pocketbooks.

In fact, if we knew more about the current state of the Trump Organization, he might be considered a batter who’s praying for a walk.
[/quote]Also sometimes known as an ‘intentional pass,’ which is what Republicans in Congress, evangelicals and a number of others have been giving him.
I think this is brilliant trolling by Bernie. In general, republicans are fine with paying workers so little that they need food stamps and other government subsidies to survive. But if you frame it as hurting the owner of the failing fake news washington post…
He can’t resist underbussing his own son for even the most unimportant, trivial details. Whoopdy-shit, you endorsed one guy and somebody else won. You know which other presidents that probably happened to from time to time? All of them, Katie.
But no, you gotta find somebody else to blame for you not batting 1000. Why not blame it on your kid? Perfect.
I hadn’t thought of it quite like that but I’ll bet you’re right! I did think it was interesting that he took a long-standing position on the left (make walmart pay their workers) and re-framed it as “get Bezos!” Nice trolling indeed!
“What the hell is all of this fuss,
Over throwing him under the bus?
Friess would clearly have won,
If it weren’t for my son,
And his persistent tardiness.”
