Trump has dragged us thru a wormhole. We are now in an alternate reality wherein anything the BIG MOUTH says is instantly taken to heart by his minions and his popularity soars. Calling Mexicans rapists? no problem. Blood from where ever?. yep that love it. Attacking the Pope cuz the Pope spoke his mind? You bet’cha!
Any one of these gaffes should have sunk him. In normal reality that is.

Folks, we may be witnessing Sarah Palin’s re-emergence onto the national political scene. First go-round, we rightfully blamed Senator John McCain–who, by the way, should just now be recovering from that terrible knife-in-the-back accident he had the last time Palin visited him. Last time, John McCain was to blame. This time, will be Donald Trump’s turn.

Beatty, maybe what America needs to restore her dignity and democracy is a Trump/Palin term. The outright shock to our political and economic system will need a generation to right itself but after the carnage we will have learned the lesson that businessmen and vacuous grifters are not what the greatest nation on Earth needs as leaders. We need a harsh lesson to teach everyone that their vote really does matter. That the Constitution really does outline a damned good system of government. And that we should never elect idiots.

As a former teacher of med students and a medical researcher (in other words, someone who values intelligence and learning) I find it more than disturbing that there are people who are more than willing and very proud to show off their rampant stupidity.

Hanging my head low, with hat in hand … I won’t argue with you, but I thought America would have learned those lessons–and learned them good–after eight years of GWBush. (!!!Spit!!!)
I mean, damn! What the hell will it take, people of the U.S., to get with it? – to get it through our collective head that we were handed a pretty good system to work with – not to hand over to the likes of a B-movie “star,” a dumb-dumb but evil “Dubya,” and totally narcissistic billionaires and word salad-spewing quitting grifters?

America was served a double-whammy - first Vietnam and then Watergate. By the mid-seventies, voters were so disgusted with the lies and corruption that they elected a genuinely honest man named Jimmy Carter.
Unfortunately, voters quickly learned that they didn’t like being told the truth by an honest man. You know, things like turning down the thermostat, conserving energy, driving less, etc. And although they’ll never admit it, Americans much prefer being lied to. So they elected a second-rate movie actor who convinced them that they were #1, the shining beacon on the hill, and that they could have everything they want and not pay for it. Most people knew it was a lie, but bought into it anyway because it made them feel good.
We’re still paying for it 35 years later and I don’t think things are likely to change. At least, not in my remaining time on this Earth.

Of course Trump was thanking Palin for her colorfully incoherent endorsement which included gems like this:
