A proper media narrative requires you to win it all. A Dem doing fabulously in a former solid red district isn’t good enough for the narrative. It’s the same principle that requires the media darling underdog in the Olympics to be bitterly disappointed with winning silver, like a silver medal in the damn Olympics is a sad letdown. The actual significance of this election is just too complicated for moron anchors to convey to moron viewers.
