Discussion: Trump Taps His Top Business Attorney To Handle International Negotiations

No. No conflicts or appearance of corruption there.

Nothing like a little baksheesh before the negotiations begin. He acts like he doesn’t know the US has teams of lawyers that specialize in this work. Hundreds of lawyers who do this for a living.

And if you’re not familiar with the term baksheesh, the mafia term is vig, short for vigorish.

Per the Guardian

Aside from his work for Trump, Greenblatt practiced law at the firm of Fried Frank, Harris, Shriver and Jacobson, and also formed a business called The Credit Workshop in 1992 with his brother, Joseph Greenblatt, who is currently serving up to 18 years in New York prison for fraud.

A real estate lawyer to handle international negotiations. It all is making such wonderful sense now. And he is Jewish, so of course that makes him an expert on Israeli policy. How long does this guy get to punk us like this? How long before one of his moronic picks steps into some real shit on behalf of the country? I am having a hard time distinguishing between Trump’s desire to reward everyone who has supported him from just a general plot about how to destroy the country as quickly as possible.

Not to worry, Don’s got his best Jews on it. They’ll be exempted from the camps. For a while, anyway.

He’s very respectful of Jewish sensibilities. He’s like a bull in a china shop (which we know from Mythbusters won’t break a thing).

Greenblatt has “a history of negotiating substantial, complex transactions on my behalf,” and will continue in that capacity for the business enterprise being run by my kids under a sham blind trust in which I have no interest other than being its sole beneficiary. The pretext of being the SoS will give him access to opportunities around the world and unlimited leverage to make me even richer than I pretend to be.

I’m going to need a new supply of “Fuck All These Guys” for 2017.

It does fit the unvarying tripartite pattern of Trump adviser picks: Robber Baron, Crazy-Eyed Ideologue, or Some Guy I Know.

N.B. Baksheesh is a bribe, tip or gratuity. Vig is the interest paid on a debt to a loanshark.

You forgot the parade of people from central casting who have no expertise whatsoever but look the part

I guess Trump is reframing the Israeli-Palistine conflict as a property deal problem ? Who knows, maybe it works ?

Right. Have to bet 11 to win 10.
