To be fair, nobody said it was classy, just funny as hell. You mad because it’s your job to clean it off?

Indeed. TPM’s troll’s troll is certainly losing his edge. Where has the shrill’s shrill’s energy gone? So disappointing.

Which reminds me: Where the hell is Ugg when you need him?

Seriously, if you had gone to a Hollywood producer with a movie idea about a vain billionaire blowhard TV personality who speaks his mind, and taps into a vein of white male rage that makes him appealing to enough people in the conservative party to be taken seriously, and then goes onto to win the nomination for President through his adept use of media and the help of half a dozen other billionaire plutocrats, they would toss the script into trash and tell you that its ridiculous. And yet here we are. This is the inevitable result of the intersection between America’s cult-like fetish with celebrity, and right wing rage. Who’d a thunk it. . . . . .

Wow! Central casting could not have come with a better asshat to emblemize the average trump supporter than this yahoo in the blue polo shirt.

Absolutely, agree.

Conservatives we can deal with. Reactionaries, not so much.

Had it happen to me at the post office by someone who didn’t like my Obama bumper sticker and tried to pick a fight.

@MattinPA: Yeah I love the way they always end their arguments with ‘Wake up, sheeple!’ In ten years we’re going to see these guys dropping from strokes left and right. (Or right and righter as the case may be.) Then begging for Medicare to take their bills away.

@Dave_Adams: we don’t have to speculate - we’ve already seen rightwingers disrupting campaign events and Presidential visits with implied threats and open carry. Haven’t seen any reactions like this that I can recall (except Al Franken taking that guy down with his wrestling move.)

@pareedave: I dunno, the guy in the backwards baseball cap was the most cliched to me.

True. His supporters are the ultimate rubes. Once again, Republicans being used by con men/women. It would be sad if the nasty pieces of work who believe it didn’t deserve to be made fools of.

First, I would like to recommend non violent protest to the protesters. Please. Second, Trump is a clown, but look closely at Trump and his hired thugs who go with him everywhere. Then look at his supporters. This is a dangerous clown.

A political movement in the throes of dying will become more dangerous as it dies.

Now wait just a minute here. Just yesterday Trump whined about not having Secret Service protection. OK then… just who are those thuggy looking men in dark suits in the second video??

Ugg doesn’t show up nearly often enough in my humble estimation. but we do have Theghostofeustacetilly to fall back on in times of great need.

Usually it comes down to a couple of things…anger and thought. The Reactionaries are long on one and short on the other.

And, in this particular Presidential election cycle, we are going to need TGOET, :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Your sentence is profound.
This is a subject explored by Jane Goodall nearly half century ago.
And it’s not just the Right, in a classical sense; The ‘strongman’ ethic used to dominate Teamsters politics, big city ‘machine’ politics too. Seems to be reflexive in the ape, and only overpowered by conscious application of the upper cortex.

What is scary is the extent of the craziness: GOP primary voters (not just the base) support certifiable nuts or extremist demagogues (and I’m not even including those who back Cruella or Li’l Bobby).

Not all apes. The Bonobo… our closest relative was separated from the rest of the chimp population by the rise of the Congo River. Bonobos had all they needed on their side and learned to share and stay peaceful for so long it became part of their deep behavior. Chimps on the other hand on their side of the river competed for limited resources. It has led to the domination ethic for them and among us humans as well.
