For once I’m thankful to be as old as I am, and reasonably secure entering my fifth year of coverage under Medicare. So far, so good. But, Jeezus Keerist, this is getting uglier by the hour.

Part of me is sure that all the people who pick a $75/month health plan will be overjoyed. Many for quite a while, until they need it. They will make much noise and get lots of press. Smart money says their personal disasters-- when they need coverage they don’t have-- will not get much press at all.
But here’s hoping this blows up in his face. My gut tells me this isn’t working for him, and won’t. His track record of gaming the system in office hasn’t worked too well so far. And his selfie back-patting sounds particularly frightened this time.

Is Trump really stupid enough to think he’s hurting insurance companies? They’ll make their profits one way or another. It’s the folk who make too much for Medicaid but not enough to afford private insurance who get crushed by this. CSRs are paid by the government on behalf of low income people who otherwise wouldn’t be covered by insurance companies…they’re not a “windfall” for them.

I read that Trump got frustrated with McMaster, Mattis, Tillerson, and Kelly’s advice on the Iran deal, so he dialed up Hannity and John Bolton for their “thoughts”. If we don’t prevent any further phone calls with the latter man we’ll go to war for sure.

I agree. The fact that he keeps calling on dems to “get smart and deal” sound desperate. Make a deal on what? The umpteen shitty healthcare bills they’ve tried so far? Pass. Straight repeal? Pass.
He’s just saying he’s hurting the INSCOS so that people think he’s protecting the little guy and hurting the big guys. But I get the sense no one is buying it. Not sure why I think that, but I do.
Trump may have a hefty net worth financially, but that does not mask (or excuse) that he is an insecure, pathetic, sad, selfish, foolish human being. That it is being played out in the office of the Presidency is a great and dangerous risk.
I’m at a certain age and station in life where I have a lot to worry about frankly. I wake up in the morning though under the current Administration and I’m more worried about what this idiot did overnight than anything else…
