Actually its scarier than that - “the only unbiased judges are those that agree with me” - this is the basis of authoritarianism
I want this election OVER so I never have to look on or hear this reprehensible ‘person’ again. ‘… they’re not there and they don’t have the facts’…which ‘facts’ are those?

This is so ludicrous I fear that Trump is going to use it as his way of extricating himself from this trap he’s made for himself. For the next question inevitably will be, Can a white male judge be biased? And if he’s smart he’ll answer, “Of course. Anyone can be biased. All I am saying is that we have too many activist judges in this country being biased and unfair. Curiel is one of them.” And the media, so desperate to believe that he’s secretly all right underneath, will let the issue drop and Trump won’t ever have to admit to having backed down.
I fear that would work. But we can only hope that Trump is so crazed and stupid that he won’t take this sort of exit strategy.

I think it’s fascinating the problem Trump and his supporters have with grasping the idea of an impartial judge. It’s like because they’re horrible people, they assume that everyone else is horrible as well.
They also have to be Evangelical Christian. Muslims, Jews, Catholics and mainline Protestants can be biased as well.

I think that’s the key. You do learn a lot about someone by what he habitually sees in others. We project from our own standpoint. And if all someone ever sees in everyone else is corruption and partiality and the desire to harm, that tells us everything we need to know about that person.
These people have no manners, no decency, no respect for the law.

Nope. As long as the trial is on-going, the issue won’t go away. And Trump is the one who made the motion to have it moved until after the election, thus guaranteeing it is a campaign issue through out the campaign.
His only way out is to drop talking about it entirely, and pivot to something else…completely ignoring any and all questions related to the judge or trial. That of course becomes a “topic” in and of itself, but its a better topic than doubling down on “all judges that disagree with me are racists”
