‘of reporters who essentially have just been glorified bloggers who aren’t really interested in covering the campaign…’ They should fit right in then, Katrina, since you and your Donald are not interested in having a ‘campaign’ that talks about policies and/or issues. If you want to run as a celebrity then expect to be treated as one…oh and that whole constitutional thing that you guys insist are just ‘guidelines’…
Nothing spoken by any of Trump 2016’s Liar Apprentices is worth a femtowatt of electricity to record or transmit. So I’m still waiting for a real reporter, who neither needs nor wants “access,” to do a real hit piece. They shouldn’t bother interviewing anyone from the campaign, and should begin with the premise that one needn’t swim in the septic tank to know of what it’s full. One certainly needn’t seek the comment of every little turd.
Whatever amount of truly critical coverage Trump gets from the MSM will be vastly outweighed by the sycophantic, celebrity-oriented coverage he’ll receive from it. Before long, David Brooks will writing very serious columns about how Trump really isn’t that bad, that he’s the legitimate spokesman for all those oppressed white folks who have been ill-served by Obama’s horribly divisive policies, that Trump knows how to get things done, and Benghazi. And he’ll be far from the only very serious white tribune of the people to write such drivel.
So I don’t understand? Which amendment has a priority over the other. By removing someone from the press corp is a form of speech yes. They say the other person is a hatchet man/women. Is that not free speech? So which free speech wins?
Can’t wait to see Nixon’s enemies list. Err, Trump’s list. Seems like 1968 all over again. Or maybe 1972, anyone check their offices for bugs?
Why didn’t Obama think of that ?
However if Hill trys it they’ll be no one there . Even the liberal sites take their shots
Trump may have a point. If a “hit piece” is written but is dubiously sourced or laced with partisan preference I think the victim of the piece has a right to defend against it. Journalist have become very sloppy over the last decades and to the point their product is expected to be sloppy as well. We understand that “that’s the biz” to them but we don’t have to accept that. If that bit the guy wrote above, with anonymous sourcing, is false the Trump folks ( and no one else if you think about it ) will know that and they have a right to defend. They would know it was damaging bullshit.
Bullying the media is a different thing. But if the media earns derision I think it would be good for all if they got it.
In Drumpf world, facts = hit piece.
In the latter days of the W administration, reality took on a liberal slant and was often strangely against the government. With Drumpf, that’s the starting point. It’s going to be interesting.
You picked the right word: cartoonish.
I can just see some professional Republican campaign staffers pulling their hair out at Pierson’s now daily lunacy, giving Hillary’s staffers tons of campaign ad material for later. Heck, she’s even more entertaining to see and hear than Trump.
There must be a school for Republican spokespeople where they are taught how to look right into the camera and lie there azzes off. She graduated with a Masters degree!
Probably with a Palin Journalistic grant. You betcha!
Whoa Megyn… a bit of a jump to a Drumpf presidency… how about “can we expect this type of behavior in the general?”
just doing constant hit pieces. . . .
“All too easy”, as Darth Vader said.
Well that’s mighty white of him to “go down every single lane and talk to every one of them” when you’ve banned the one who don’t fluff you.
What courage. He’ll totally stand up to Putin and China.
It worked for Joe Mac and those dirty dirty commies
I dunno. Clinton has had decades of bullshit hit pieces aimed at her. Even an entire bullshit network constantly throwing bullshit her way.
She is the most vetted, investigated and questioned candidate to ever run for office and yet no one has found anything legitimate in anything she has done. Nothing. Zilch. Nadda.
Yet somehow a vast number of people have been conviced she is “untrustworthy”.
Proof Orwell was an optimist.
These unfortunate acolytes don’t understand that Trump is deserving of “hit pieces” his policies and actions are bat shit crazy…that fact can’t be repeated too often considering what is at stake,
Yep. And that’s the reason they can’t take Trump down.
yes … but the problem lies in the fact that a “hit piece” to The Donald’s fragile ego is anything that directly quotes him correctly, because even he has the limited intelligence to realize he sounds like a complete fucking idiot.
you can write the same exact thing you wrote about Fox News, word for word. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. Trump is as much a culmination of their bullshit as he is a product of this perversion of the GOP as a whole.
Truth is drumpf is hit piece? No wonder this widget has a job! She talks just like her boss the 4th grader!
