I don’t think he realizes that Mueller was not a part of his team

It reads to me like a resignation/concession statement. DT might now be in wealth preservation mode.

They’re already appointed for dementia/paresis cases.

  1. Trump didn’t write that statement. 2. Extreme narcissists always believe they will win out in the end (They have no handle on reality and are convinced they are smarter than the rest of the world.)

“We didn’t collude with Russia,” Trump emphasized, “we collaborated. We were partners in a private partnership, which is okay because I’m a businessman - and a Republican. No colluding, nothing we did was crooked! We didn’t do anything we are accused of, and even if we did it was legal!”

Several decades ago, during a period rife with political corruption scandals in Boston, it was fashionable amongst those who escaped conviction on “technicalities”, or hung juries, to describe themselves as “proven innocent!”. Here’s a pro tip “Mr.” President*: It ain’t happening for you, Donnie baby. See ya latuh!

“I look forward to this matter concluding quickly. In the meantime,…"

Yep. He has no idea what’s coming next or just how long this is going to drag out. In any case, he isn’t in control here.

EDIT TO ADD: In addition to the list of mental instabilities he suffers from, he is extremely impatient. This investigation will take its toll on him by the middle of summer at the latest. He has no impulse control and it’ll become quite clear that things are spining out of control.

Yeah, no. He didn’t write that. Correct use of the em dash… polysyllabic words… subject verb agreement…? Nah.

BTW from the Coast Guard Graduation today

"He continued, “Never ever, ever give up. Things will work out just fine. Look at the way I’ve been treated lately.”

He opened up his arms for sympathy. "

He hasn’t seen anything yet.

Special Counsel. Concluding quickly. Two things that do not go together.

All the more reason to disregard the stated sentiment. He didn’t understand a word of it but he knew he had to do it.

“I’m, like, a smart person.”

That decided it for me a long time ago.

@danny

which would devolve into either a pity conference or a press confrontation. Depends how close it is to the weekend and his scheduled round of golf.

Well, if you have nothing to hide, why not hold a press conference and defend yourself! See if you can do it without calling the press the enemy of the American people. I won’t hold my breath though.
