Discussion: Trump Slams 'Phony' Story On Obstruction Of Justice Probe

The phony president calls the real story phony? Funny…

Is “phony” like “fake”? I’m amazed Donnie has found a new word to use.

Keep tweeting, asshole. Every time you do, you help the prosecutors.

Thou doth protest too much.

Sing, my man, sing! Tell us more, please! What’s in your mind at the moment? Now at the next moment?

I bet Spicer is like, “You know, Sarah does a great job with obstruction of justice—questions, I mean!! She can give the briefing today”

Makes you wonder how quick the exodus of Oval Trailer staffers is going to be?

Clueless as they are, they have to be seeing the indictments handwriting on the wall…

You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history

Proving yet again what a fucking idiot Trump is.

Victims of McCarthyism
It is difficult to estimate the number of victims of McCarthyism. The number imprisoned is in the hundreds, and some ten or twelve thousand lost their jobs. In many cases, simply being subpoenaed by HUAC or one of the other committees was sufficient cause to be fired. Many of those who were imprisoned, lost their jobs or were questioned by committees did in fact have a past or present connection of some kind with the Communist Party. But for the vast majority, both the potential for them to do harm to the nation and the nature of their communist affiliation were tenuous. Suspected homosexuality was also a common cause to be targeted by McCarthyism. According to some scholars, this resulted in more persecutions than did alleged connection with Communism.

In the film industry, over 300 actors, authors and directors were denied work in the U.S. through the unofficial Hollywood blacklist. Blacklists were at work throughout the entertainment industry, in universities and schools at all levels, in the legal profession, and in many other fields. A port security program initiated by the Coast Guard shortly after the start of the Korean War required a review of every maritime worker who loaded or worked aboard any American ship, regardless of cargo or destination. As with other loyalty-security reviews of McCarthyism, the identities of any accusers and even the nature of any accusations were typically kept secret from the accused. Nearly 3,000 seamen and longshoremen lost their jobs due to this program alone.

After the extremely damaging “Cambridge Five” spy scandal (Guy Burgess, Donald Maclean, Kim Philby, Anthony Blunt, et al.), suspected homosexuality was also a common cause for being targeted by McCarthyism. The hunt for “sexual perverts”, who were presumed to be subversive by nature, resulted in thousands being harassed and denied employment. Many have termed this aspect of McCarthyism the “Lavender scare”.

Homosexuality was classified as a psychiatric disorder in the 1950s. However, in the context of the highly politicised Cold War environment, homosexuality became framed as a dangerous, contagious social disease that posed a potential threat to state security. As the family was believed to be the cornerstone of American strength and integrity, the description of homosexuals as “sexual perverts” meant that they were both unable to function within a family unit and presented the potential to poison the social body. This era also witnessed the establishment of widely spread FBI surveillance intended to identify homosexual government employees.

The McCarthy hearings and according “sexual pervert” investigations can be seen to have been driven by a desire to identify individuals whose ability to function as loyal citizens had been compromised. McCarthy began his campaign by drawing upon the ways in which he embodied traditional American values in order to become the self-appointed vanguard of social morality. Paradoxically, accusations of alleged homosexual behaviour marked the end of McCarthy’s political career.

Does he realize that the investigations of Russia connections and obstruction are part of the same course of actions and are going on concurrently? It’s not end one investigation and start another one. And that financial shenanigans are being investigated, too? Oh, and let’s call the special counsel, FBI and rest of the Intelligence Community “some really bad and conflicted people.” That’ll help.

You are witnessing the single greatest WITCH HUNT in American political history - led by some very bad and conflicted people!

Isn’t that right there prima facie evidence of attempted obstruction of justice?

Shorter Trump: I can dish it out, but I JUST CAN’T TAKE IT ANY MORE, WAH WAH WAH."

After what happened yesterday the rhetoric from Congress, most of Congress, was " let’s tone it down " and be more civil. And now, we have this. Some things are more important than you, Donald!

The greatest witch hunt in American history was your phony search for President Obama’s birth certificate which was on record in Hawaii.

[/quote]Phony rhymes with Comey. Trump is laying the groundwork for “Impeachment or Resignation? - the Musical” lyrics.

Shorter Trump: I am scared shit that all the illegal stuff that I have done is going to come out very soon.

Psst, Donald! Did you notice that Jared isn’t tweeting any support for you?
He’s not a team player, is he? And he’s a bad influence on the First Lady.
Maybe you should cut him loose?

He’s reminds me of those idiots you read about in the news who taunt the police on Facebook, or brag about a crime, and get caught and convicted because of it. His tweets are building the case against him. Seriously, if he winds up getting charged with something at some point the only lawyers dumb enough to defend him are Kasowitz and Dershowitz. BTW, was Dershowitz always such an asshole?

This has been another edition of simple answers to simple questions.
